So, people start receiving HC yesterday...

Where are the previews????

I've been sitting here with mine in my laptop dvd player & wondering why no one has posted how TOTALLY COMPLETELY INCREDIBLE they are.

What's the deal? Are you all being shy?

Ok, here we go...

Gym Style Chest & Triceps very pleasantly surprised me. With the incorporation of the bands, I was afraid the title was a lie. IT TOTALLY IS NOT! Cathe does the workout as promised in the details thread (http://69.0.137.118/dc/dcboard.php?...ic_id=43838&mesg_id=43838&listing_type=search). The bands are only used in the tricep portion of the workout & only as a "bonus burn." Not overly used in my opinion & easily skipped if wanted.

Low Max looks like it will get the heart rate pumping despite the "threat" that it would be difficult without the impact. I can't wait to get doing it.

Kick Max--I admit I didn't preview the entire thing. I am just getting ready to jump into this one. The choregraphy looks challenging but not overly intricate.

Ok, come on ladies, who has previewed the others???

Evening Fitness Goddess,

I would normally wait before reviewing, but if it helps you for tomorrow I'll give you my impressions of Kick Max.

Background: In general, I'm an advanced exerciser. I have done Cathe for years. I have some experience with KB (not an expert) and have also used other KB home workouts.

The basics have already been listed by Cathe and there are pictures posted of the set and clothing. Also, the menu has already been discussed. The music is techno instrumental (I guess that's a term). It includes some music that was used in Hardcore Kickbox Curcuit (HKC). I wish it also included Guillermo :) . This workout is done well as we have come to expect from Cathe. There were just a couple of moves in the beginning that were not in unison, but these were not distracting. It was like being in a normal class. The crew looked great. I had fun and felt that I got a good workout.

This is a kickboxing workout. Those who liked KPC should enjoy this workout.

The warm up/kick & punch combo's have some similarities to KPC. If you have done HKC it builds in a similar way, without the weight work in between. Each combination builds on itself. The combos move at a swift pace. I am glad that I have a balance of flexability training, core training, and balance work built into my program to assist with these moves.

Kickbox/bootcamp reminded me of IMAX done kickbox style. I really thought oooh  Kick Max. Calorie burn is right. The moves were easy to catch on to and got the heart rate up. This section is easy to skip or modify if you don't want the impact.

Leg conditioning drills definately created the burn. A good compliment to KPC. When I don't do KB for long periods, the punching drills cause DOMS in my upper body. Well now I can experience this in my lower body. I'll know tomorrow. This was a mini lower body workout in itself. I think you will need to pay attention to form and it is slow enough to do so. I didn't think there was enough instruction for beginners. I might be overly concerned but executing moves with proper form is very important. This is not a negative as this is an advanced workout.

Stretch was included. I think this is where I'm glad that I have a balanced routine. Cathe has been including some nice yoga & pilates moves in her latest workouts. Once again, I think for maximum benefit it is nice to have had prior instruction & experience.

Well, I think that is it,

Hi Deborah -

Well I did Kick Max yesterday morning, without the leg conditioning drills at the end (don't have the time in the morning). It was about a 50 minute workout - perfect length for my morning workouts. I have been doing KPC twice a week to get ready for this and I thought it would knock my socks off, but apparently I really WAS ready for it! :) Don't get me wrong - it's a toughie! New moves put into a new order definitely got me winded and my heartrate up. However, I would say that this workout rivals KPC in it's intensity, but one is not more intense than the other. Just my opinion.

Both have something that the other doesn't and I really think they will be great in a rotation together. Again, I did NOT do the leg conditioning drills, so I guess I'm really commenting more on the cardio portion of the workout.

Oh, and one more thing I'm SORE this morning, in my hamstrings and upper back especially. Feels nice.
