To follow up on my teething nightmares...I think Aiden (16.5 months) has been getting some additional teeth, but the fever, vomiting, sleepiness, and lack of eating were from this virus. I called doc yesterday morning when Aiden got a raised red rash all on his back, chest, and face. She said that the illness is on its way out now and almost cleared up. It just has to run its course pretty much, but very contagious to other kids (very rarely adults). Yikes, I'm glad we didn't go to any playgroups last week. Anyway, just thought I'd throw out the info to everyone. It's very common for babies from 6 months to about 2 years. Aiden is still a bit tired but on the mend!

Oh my...we had that one last year - it was going around, but the rash - which is the best symptom for diagnosis - comes at the end, so I, too, didn't know what we had until days after we needed to be quarantined. The symptoms other than the rash are so common for sooooo many other things! I hope Aiden is feeling better - and that you manage to catch up on some rest, too!

Alexis had it last year (about 8 months old). She was real lethargic and feverish then all of a sudden the rash came out, 2 days later she was fine. I am glad you figured out why Aiden was so fussy. I figured it was more than teething. Usually with teething, I find some diarea, Alexis sucking lot on toys, a little stuffy nose and waking up at night.
