So I started the Eat to Live plan...

2 weeks ago and have noticeably lost weight (can fit into clothes that I couldn't several weeks ago). (FYI, I had a baby 6 months ago and am nursing).

The problem is when I go to workout, I have no energy. I did CTX last week and am starting timesaver this week because that is all I have energy for. But I am eating a lot. I learned about this book on the cathe forums, so I know some of you follow this eating plan.

Has anyone else noticed a drop in energy when starting this diet? Also, I am craving junk food like crazy. Anyone with experiences following Dr. Fuhrman's eating plan, please share...

The only thing I had trouble with was running. That was in the first few weeks of ETL. I could do any other cardio but when I tried to run long distances, I was weak. I thought it could have also been due to the weight loss. I just added more plant protein daily and in a few weeks my body adjusted and running was better. So, just give your body time to adjust and maybe add some more plant protein daily for awhile. I didn't crave junk food at all in the beginning...HTH...:)...Carole

Since you are nursing, you may need some more calorie-dense foods (nursing burns quite a lot of calories). Add some servings of sprouted grain bread with p.b. or some avocado, for example.

Thanks! I think you are both right. I will try more plant protein and calorie dense foods.

Hey, emy! It sounds like you are right on track, but I wanted to add that when I was nursing, I ate at least 3,000 calories a day. YIKES! But I was still able to lose weight and I had energy. And, my son was obviously getting enough, he is a hoss!!! :p
