So annoying!!!

I have to vent about this for a second. I do a lot of online shopping, for a variety of reasons, not the least of which is that I don't really have a lot of time during the week, and it's easy! Most notably among the "needs" that I shop for online is stamps. Since I commute 3 hours a day, I'm rarely near a post office when it's open, so being able to buy stamps online is a godsend.

Now, may I ask why lately EVERY place you buy online, they make you create an "account" before you can check out? Exactly what purpose does that serve? The USPS didn't do this before, but today when I try to buy stamps, I have to create an account with a username and password (one uppercase, one lowercase, and one letter in the password). Not only that, they're asking for a security question ("What's your mother's maiden name?") This is ridiculous!!! If I create this account, there's no way I'm ever going to remember it anyway... and why does the USPS require you to go thru this rigamarole just to buy stamps? Why do they need, in addition to my credit card number, my mother's maiden name?!?!

So annoying!!!!!!!!!!! Sorry, just had to vent about this. Anyone else find this frustrating?

Oh, I know, I hate that too. No matter what you try to do anymore...even take a stupid online quiz.....they want your INFO. Didn't used to be that way! It is just so they can send you all that crap you don't want anyway. Some websites, I get it, but most are just stupid. Some of it is in place for our security, in the age of identity theft, but PUUHHHLEASSSEEE!!!

Venting right along with ya girlfriend.}(

I completely understand how annoying it can be.

I have kept a word doc and just copy and past my user name and my own "hint" for my passwords. It has helped me so I can "remember" all my user names.

And FYI, you can mail order stamps or buy them by the roll at Costco. USPS has envelopes that you just put in your mailbox and then they deliver the stamps to you.

I think they do this so they can all send you annoying e-mails . Then you have to change your e-mail because you end up with 200 a day saying do you need viagra???

I can buy stamps in the mac machine at the bank...
