Small Fashion Divas?

O.K. ladies, I know some of you out there must have this problem too. I wear a junior size 0,1 or 3 depending on the clothing designer. I just can't wear any misses sizes, even a 2 is too big in the hips, chest etc. and petite styles are usually too short. My problem is that I'm 37 and junior sizes equal junior styles, some of which are cute, but I don't want to look like some pathetic middle age lady trying to be 16 again. Does anybody know where I can get professional small size clothes? Victoria's Secret catalog carries everything in XS but their suits are just too pricey for me (although I love their pjs & casual stuff and the Body By Victoria lingerie is so fabulously comfortable :) ) If anyone knows any stores or websites I could check out, please let me know, I'd appreciate it.

BTW, in case anyone's interested, I've found Avia makes really great fitting workout pants in smaller sizes.

Thanks Ladies!

That may be a good "Ask Cathe" question, 'cause I'll bet Cathe is that small. So why don't you try to get a suggestion from her?

Hi, Lorrie! I have somewhat the same problem, here in the bustling metropolis of Minneapolis; only one store chain in the Twin Cities, Petite Sophisticate, consistently carries women's professional wear in a size zero. I don't know if you're even smaller than that, but their website is worth a try:

www.petitesophisticate.com

In malls, they're usually grouped with Casual Corner, at least here in the Twin Cities.

You may also want to try Barrie Pace's catalog / website; I think it's:

www.barriepace.com

although it is totally pricey!

I didn't know Victoria's Secret carried daytime wear in smaller sizes. I'll have to check it out!

Thanks for bringing up the subject!

i dont have that problem...but i have been told by a small friend of mine that she loves to shop at Bebe's...(i think thats the name) because the clothes are small enough...

Hi Annette!

Thanks for the information - I believe there is a Petite Sophisticate at a mall in a town not too far from me.

Victoria's Secret has fabulous clothes, both professional and fun, but only through their catalog, not at the stores. I did recently get a size 0 suit from their clearance catalog which is gorgeous and I got 75% off WOO-HOO!! Their stuff always fits excellent and they also carry alot of great, comfy weekend wear. The catalog is the best bet - even their website doesn't compare. You can request a catalog through their website. Gosh, I sound like a sales rep for Vic's - but if you haven't tried the Body By Victoria panties and bras, you just have to. They are the softest, most comfortable thing to touch your skin.

.....any excuse to shop ;-)

My mom (just 5 ft tall) loves Talbots Petite for professional clothes, but they tend to be somewhat pricey. Like Annette, she also loves Petite Sophisticate. They're also pricey, but the clothes are quality and classic designs, so they should last.

Good luck!
