Slip Covers for couch, loveseat and ottoman

I have a bulky dark green couch, love seat and ottoman in my finished basement. We're going to be painting the boring beige walls and getting new carpet. I don't know what wall color to go with. The room is a very large, (long and narrow configuration) and multi-purpose with separate functional "spaces" that share a long common side wall. One half of the room is the living area the other half is my workout room. The couch is basically the room divider and faces a large tv that sits on a nice wood tv stand. New furniture is not in the budge but I'm having a hard time picking a wall color I like that is fresh but not overbearing in the huge room. I'm not a fan of gold/mustard colors. The adjoining guest room and half bath have dark green sage walls and that room feels cozy so I don't really want to repaint that room but would still like the main living area to be harmonious with that room. I though about getting a slip cover for all the pieces but I worry that I'd be constantly adjusting the slipcovers and that would be very annoying. Both the couch and the love seat have separate cushions for both the seating and the back ( couch has 6 total cushions, 3 for the seats, 3 for the back and the loveseat has a total of 4). Any decorators out there with any tips?? I've read to not paint the dark basement a light color b/c it will tend to look dingy in the shadows, but I feel if I go too dark or too saturated the room will look too heavy with my monster green furniture. (Hubby picked out the couch and wants it to stay, grrr) I thought about an accent wall in a warm color and the logical wall would be wall with the tv, but the tv stand is warm rich brown wood with orange/red undertones and if I picked a warm terra cotta for the accent wall, the tv stand would "disappear" against it. There aren't too many many ways to arrange the furniture either due to outlets etc. I'm ready to decorate but don't know what to do!
