Man, this is tough! Particularly when one is still full from a dinner of vegetarian fried chicken, sweet potato pizza and espresso ice cream mud pie! }( I'm struggling with holding in my gut but I'm optimistic that it will be worth the effort!

Hey Luna:

I'm trying, I'm trying! The bloat is making it difficult, but I'm certain that under the puffiness, my gut is flat and beautiful!
 
I sucked in like crazy this morning on the way to work and squeezed my gluteus maximus at every stoplight. Can you get DOMS from this??

Lunacat did you say sweet potato pizza? If so I must know what that consists of:) Yes I am sucking in my gut. It's easier then the no sweets challenge for sure!

Kim,

When you're sitting or standing, just contract your abdominal muscles and maintain good posture (i.e. shoulders back, no slouching). Somehow it sounds easier than it really is! :)

Sucking it in, although I do think it requires more thought since I'm off work and not staring at my post-it note. I have them other places to remind me though. Just finished my cleaning with mopping my kitchen so I'm done with that. Now on to IMAX3 where I don't know how much SITG I can do when doing that!!!!

Sweet potato pizza: crust without sauce, feta cheese, carmelized onions, roasted sweet potatoes topped with a salad made of spinach walnuts and viniagrette. I order it from Z-Pizza. It only comes in a 10" size, which is probably a good thing! :9

I gotta tell you this is killing me--last night I had a council mtg from 7:00-12:00 & I basically have to sit there all night w/my mouth shut, so I was trying the SIYG thing the whole time, I was absolutely exhausted by the end of the mtg LOL. Right around 11:30 I couldn't take it anymore & I let my muscles relax, I think I looked like the Scarecrow from the Wizard of Oz. :p
 
You mean you have to contract you stomach muscles all day long?? That would have to be a killer. Maybe I will do a trial run today.

I am really having a hard time with this because I just keep forgetting! I suck it in when I see this daily check-in post, but when I'm focused on something else, it all hangs loose. I sucked while I was driving to work this morning. I also tried squeezing my glutes, but that was really tough and I somehow couldn't get enough coordination to suck and squeeze at the same time! (How perverted did that just sound?) :p

Reminds me of the combustion engine cycle... suck, squeeze, bang, blow. ;) Gosh, what a geek I am!
 
The only time I remember is when I see this post or when I am working out in front of my mirrors and I catch a glimpse of my gut hanging out over my shorts...somedays I REALLY, REALLY HATE those mirrors!

Tammy, I'm not doing so hot myself. SOmetimes, I can't even log on at work so I forget when I'm sitting down charting somewhere. Uggghhh! I'm seriously thinking of buying a medicine ball this week-end & taking it to work with me. I do a lot of paperwork so my butt sits down a lot.
