Since my Dr. said no weight trining how is the Slim Series?

I have a herniated disc in my neck aand my doctor said no weight training, how is the Slim series frim Beachbody? Are these workouts effective?Thank you :)
 
The Slim Series, does not use weights but still resistance training. I would still check with the doctor. You could do some pilates without resistance or yoga.
 
The Slim Series DOES use weights in several of the workouts (3, 5 and 8# is what Debbie uses). Some workouts use resistance bands, and some combine bands and weights. "Firm it Up" is a lower body workout that doesn't use weights. "Cool it Off" is a recovery workouts: mostly stretch, with some knee stabilization and spinal erector moves.
 
Well, that is a lot lighter than what I lift now. I just cannot mentally go w/out working out!!! I have 3 children under 6, and am recovering from an eating disorder. Since I am currently nursing a baby anti depressants are out of the qustion. HMMMM, what to do now!!!! THank you girlies!!!
 
I'm not so sure that it's okay to do yoga. My orthopedist and PT have both said NO to any yoga. I have a disc problem in my lower back. Perhaps yours being in your neck is different but they definitely warned me against yoga. Sad, since yoga was my very favorite form of activity. I wasn't very good at it, but I loved trying. So relaxing, I miss it so bad! Damn those disc problems!

I'm certainly not saying you shouldn't do yoga; just that you should check with your doctor first.
