I was asked by a fellow July RT'er to post some possible sightseeing destinations this weekend, since I am from South Jersey.
Cathe's is about a half hour from Philly, and if you are into history, I would suggest visiting Independence Hall and the Liberty Bell, but I have to be honest here, there are also parts of Philly I wouldn't go near...the places I mentioned are where I would both begin and end my Phiily trip, with the possible exception of the Philadelphia Zoo,
Regarding the Jersey Shore...I DO NOT recommend attempting to drive to the NJ Shore on a Friday...the only sights you'll be seeing are pretty much the back bumpers of the car in front of you as you sit in bumper to bumper traffic for parts of your trip. Now, Sunday after the RT is a different story, the shore towns, while crowded, are not nearly as crowded as Friday & Saturday!!
If anyone wants to follow me down to Cape May on Sunday after the farewell brunch, just let me know, Cape May is a great shore town, as is Ocean City as well..I could certainly provide you with directions, if interested.
To me, cathe's gym is the highlight of Glassboro sightseeing...it's basically more businesses than anything else.
