Hey Violets!:)

I have survived B&G w/NO DOMS!!! WTH!? LOL :p

I will be headed to the gym for a TM run this afternoon when DH gets home from work. I was going to go this morning as I was sheduled off from work but I got a call last night that someone needs coverage and I couldn't say no in good conscience. :-(

Any good plans for the upcoming weekend?
I am going to out w/the gals from work tmrw night for a nice dinner and some drinks. Should be lots of fun. I'm excited. I will be dropping DS off at DH's cousins' house for the night. DH has to bowl tmrw night. After the restaraunt I plan to head to the alley to hang out with DH and everyone and have a few more drinks!}(
On saturday morning I am going shopping for a new outfit for New Year's Eve as we are probably going back to the party in Atlantic City again! WOO HOO!:+

Wendy- you have such an exciting life. I am so boring! LOL! No plans. Never really have plans.

So, no WO for me yesterday, busy, then had fire drill, which was fun.
My back is bothering me a bit. I irritated it again wearing my fire gear last night. I never thought about it before hand. Don't know if I am babysitting yet, so that will determine my WO.

Good moornin' violets,

today no workout! i am resting today and tomorrow so hopefully i will be full on energy for saturday's 5k. i just cannot believe it's the day after tomorrow....bitin' my nails;)

wendy- enjoy your run today. are you finished with your running class? i agree with meg, you do have an exciting life. we don't get much of a chance to do alot. hoping that will change now that dh's mom is here. however tomorrow night i am having dinner with a few of my lady friends. of course i won't be able to hang out all night like usual since i will have to get some sleep. i can't believe you have no DOMS from B&G...how did you manage to escape that.

meg- i hope your back feels better soon. ok, so what type of work do you do? have fun with whichever workout you choose!!

hello to all of the violets who check-in today:)
 
I started with W/U of PLB, calves w/ankle weights, then the stability ball section w/ankle weights.
Then moved on to the jillian micheals kickbox, wearing ankle weights and holding 1# weights in my hands.
Then threw in BC, and did the kickbox only premix
THen finished with AbRx and my own stretch

I have never done kickboxing with weights, so that was cool. My back felt fine, and still does. I was carefull to listen to my body in case anything was uncomfortable. I FEEL GREAT!!!

SD- hopefully you will get more couple time now that your mil is in town. I know how fun that can be. Not that I ever do it!

Wendy- yeah, is your running class over? How about that BC class?

Hey Ladies!

SD, I am so excited for your race on saturday! You go girl! What time does it start? DH and I are fortunate that we live close to lots of family who are willing to watch DS for us. I am sooo thankful as I am not the type that could deal with out having a reasonable amount of "adult only social life". This is one of the reasons I am considering not having another baby...it will be harder to find sitters when there are 2 instead of just 1.

Meg, I'd be afraid to try KB with weights. Seems dangerous but I guess if the instructor teaches it to be done in a safe manner then it's probably very effective! That BC class is being offered at my gym on wednesdays only this month and I work every wednesday. I got off that wednesday on a whim so I took the class but won't be able to for the rest of the month. :-(

Yes, my running class is long over...for me anyway! LOL It only ended recently but I hadn't been to a class in weeks. :eek:

I am sooo ready for my run today! I need to get ready so that when DH walks in I can make a mad dash for it!}( :p :7
 
Wendy- i am so with ya' on the social front. it definitely gets a little trying at times when you just can't get out even just for a few minutes. so when i do get out for adult only fun, i totally cherish the time. so you are re-thinking having another baby? i knew you were looking to sell the house before so you would have more space for a bigger family. have fun with your run, i know you are roaring to go!! the race starts at 9am, sharp. i think i will pick up the packet tomorrow night. that will just make it so real...

meg- great workout. kb with weights, go girl.

Well we are still planning to move. We are definately not in an area where we want to raise Joey and certainly do NOT want to send him to the schools here! We are not into the private school thing so we have to relocate to a town with better schools. We are still going for a bigger house as well. Our home is just too small even for the 3 of us and the dog and if we want to entertain? FORGET IT! LOL So those plans lay firm. As far as a 2nd child goes, I have decided to let my body decide. Ya know that URGE you get when you want to have a baby? Well if that really kicks in, I will listen to it as I believe it knows better than I do but if it does not, I will take that as a sign as well and Joey will be it! :+

Well, it was 4 miles on the TM for me this evening. The first 20 was ITrain's 20 min work out which was all hills and sprints. TOUGH but I LOVE it! }( After that I ran at a 10:30 pace to finish it off.:)
 
Wendy- the KB with the ankle weights was not bad at all. I feared it when I hear someone else doing it, but I used 3 pound weights. I didn't struggle or feel lilke this is too hard at all. I was surprised, I actually thought it would be harder. Plus, the majority of it was not "Cathe" KB, so alot of it was jump rope, jump jacks, and some side kicks, front, back and such. Cathe has more intensity. THe BC kb portion was like only 5 cycles or something. It all felt good.
About the baby thing. I must admit, when my sister had her baby 8 months ago, I WANTED one BADLY!! I cried over it! But, I knew I couldn't because of my meds. I do want another one, but after lugging this little baby around that I babysit, I don't miss that at all! It is nice to just throw some shoes on the boys and head out the door. If they are hungry, throw something in the back seat and let them eat. Well, you know what I mean LOL! It is just easier, and yes, I guess partly laziness on my part, but hey!
Plus, I want to be exactly where I want to be health wise so I won't have that much to bounce back from.
Who knows. I just understand how you feel about it.

Oh, is Itread or CC better in your opinion? I want to add one to my list LOL!!

Meg, You need to put your health first! I don't blame you one bit! If down the road your health is at a point where you are up to another baby and you want to go for it then do it by all means but not a minute before! You need to healthy and strong for the 2 guys you have now! :) Oh and the part about being lazy...it doesn't matter what your reason...if it is keeping you from wanting a baby then it's enough! Part of my problem is the social life thing like I said to SunnyD! That's selfish, I know, but it's how I feel and I refuse to feel badly about it!:)
 
I know this is from yesterday. However just wanted to add my 2 cents (again), lol. i wholeheartedly agree with what Wendy said. It's so funny sometimes to me how other folks try or want you to feel guilty about not having children or having more children, only you know what's right for you. my in-laws desperately want me and dh to try for one more as they want a granddaughter (only grandsons on their side) and i flat out won't do it. I have two beautiful, healthy sons and they are enough for me;)
