Ok,
The night before last i did pyramid legs and pretty heavy.
30-40-50 lb. Last night was cardio and ab night. I stretched out and got on the treadmill and my legs were killing me. I had to cut it short and did 2 segments of abs(ab hits). I am trying to get the strength back in abs from surg. The rest has come back pretty well. I am just now able to really start working the abs hard again.
If my legs are hurting that bad(doms). Should i skip the cardio for a day and rest(guilt).Am i doing myself more harm than good.
I as a rule do 1 total body and splits a week alternating with cardio.
Example
Mon- Legs
Tues cardio
Wed- upper/abs
Thurs -Cardio
Fri-Total body
Sat- Cardio
Sunday anything goes usually 2 hrs stretching and depends how my muscles feel.
I rotate series all the time. I can't do the same one for weeks.
I get bored.
I only skip days for lack of time or soreness...
I figure the cardio is just like going for a walk and we should move everyday. Kids do....
Advice please...
Anne

If you were that sore and had to quit, you did the right thing. Your legs will probably quit being that sore over time and if not you could try out a light cardio, but I would stop if I was that sore. Usually light cardio, helps my muscles feel better, and than a nice, long stretch after the muscle are warm, but if you feel that much pain, I would say, no cardio to let your muscles recover.

rest is just an important as doing the exercises. if you feel you can't just take the day off make it short, light cardio. after rough workouts i usually do something light the next day if i still feel the need to workout.
