Insanity deluxe has three workouts: 1. Max Interval Sports Training 2. Insane Abs and 3. Upper Body Weight Training. . Max Interval Sports Training is one of my favorite workouts. Upper Body Weight Training is a good upper body only weight workout. The pace of this workout is very fast!
I received Asylum for my BD and I am loving it. The Asylum workouts - 'Vertical Plyo', and 'Speed and Agility' are sports inspired. 'Game Day' is a tough, fun workout. Throughout the workout you do exercises that are inspired by various sports- tennis, basketball, football, swimming etc. These workouts use an agility ladder and a jump rope. I find the use of the ladder to be challenging and fun!
The 'Strength' workout is also very good. Options and modifications are shown for most of the exercises. Within each exercise cycle Shaun T layers on the difficulty. I use a chin up bar for some of back/core exercises (modifications without the bar are demonstrated) and the climbing move on the chin up bar is quite challenging. I can do chinups without problems but add on the climbing and hand exchanges and I can only do about 4 at a time. The 'Back To Core' Workout is a good backside of the body ( ie back, hamstrings workout.
With everything that I have said, my recommendation would be to get 'Asylum' rather than the deluxe set of Insanity. Everything that you would get in the deluxe Insanity workouts is contained in Asylum.
I hope you love Asylum as much as I do. (I also loved Insanity. It sent my cardio endurance through the roof and my resting heart rate dropped into the low 30s).
