Shopping for Charity - iGive.com

Since the holiday shopping season is bearing down upon us, I'd thought I'd mention iGive.com.

It's basically a front end for a bunch of (600+) online retailers that will donate a percentage of your purchase amount to the charity of your choice.

I've used it for a few years now, and it does work. It's free to sign up. They send out regular newsletters a few times a month, but other than that, it didn't increase my spam at all. They also keep track of how much was donated to your charity. It's pretty neat.

The Zappos post reminded me of it, since Zappos, Shoebuy, and several other shoe stores participate.

Hello there, I am not a regular poster, more of a lurker.....This time I had to share....

You can also check out SmartRaise.com (It's not for charity, its an online fundraiser started by teachers and a former student that got tired of selling wrapping paper, pizza, candles, candy, coffee, t-shirts..... all the usual suspects. You register for the group you want to fund-raise for, you shop at over 200 stores, and a portion of the profit goes back to the group that needs it.

WOW - hey READ180LADY - THANK YOU SO MUCH for that info that I've never heard of! I just signed up the junior drill team that I coach and let all of our parents know about it! That's awesome - thanks for posting!
