............you are going to the gym and want to run on the treadmill but also take an aerobic step or spin class??

I am at a loss because if I run pretty intense I don't want to wear an aerobic shoe but I also don't want to mess up my running shoes in the aerobics room. Right now, my running shoes have gone kaput and I am in the market once again. I have my old Ryka Rythms I could wear to aerobics, but do I really have to change shoes???? LOL

Would you all just wear cross trainers? Thanks!!

Running shoes may not be permitted in the aerobic room. If it were me, I would never consider running in anything but running shoes. I have messed up far too many toes running in cross trainers. You did admit that your runs are intense...given your situation, I'd say you should try to switch shoes...sorry!!!

A different shoe for all of those activities. I only find it a pain when I want to run on the treadmill but I also want to take a cardio class after or before. Cycling shoes for spin class.

I can wear crosstrainers for cycling or a light jog if I forget my shoes. I can not however, ever do a cardio class with running shoes (or cycling). Those just don't provide the support I need.

I used to do that, and I brought two pairs of shoes to the gym. When I finished the aerobic class, I then changed to my running shoes. Every physical therapist and podiatrist I have been to told me not to do step and aerobics classes in running shoes, or vice versa. Running shoes are constructed for a forward movement while crosstrainers provide support for lateral movements.

Why can't you just have it all????? LOL

Ok, guess I will buy running shoes and tote two pairs. thanks!
