I got cycling shoes after trying CycleMax without them and kept waking up that night because my ankles hurt. Cycling shoes made a big difference. I got some Louis-Garneau shoes from Realcyclist.com through Amazon. Check out both sites, because most sizes are on sale for $35 (w/o shipping).

I got Ryka Transitions after other posters had commented that they really helped with using the disks. I found some on Amazon for $50 with SuperSaver shipping. They are wonderful for the LIS workouts and do make the workouts much better, IMO.

Needless to say, I'm getting nuttin' for Christmas--but that's perfectly okay!

I got the same cycling shoes and they really do make a difference.

I'm trying Saucony's Grid V2 and like them for the low intensity series. I haven't done any impact work in them yet. That's when I have the most problems finding a shoe I'm happy with enough to keep.

Yes, a HUGE difference, especially for indoor cycling. Even if you don't clip in your cycle shoes and just wear cycle shoes held in the straps/cage it makes a world of difference in EVERY way....from your focus, energy output, muscle use, & injury prevention. If you indoor cycle and don't own cycle shoes (which sometimes run small so try them on).... put them on your holiday wish list. They will be your best purchase yet :D
