Since I have been lifting weights for upper body my tops are getting tighter and shorter what's up with this. Of course the Boobs aren't getting any bigger. I am loving the muscular shape that is heppening and am going to continue I usually wear Medium tops wash in cold water and line dry and am looking at going to Large for spring and summer I usually get my tops from Guess, Aeropostle, Pac Sun, Kohls and Tommy might even have to go to XL. Is anyone else discovering this?

Hi Beth,
I'm not sure of your age, but the stores that you listed (with the exception of Kohls) are all designed for Juniors. The cuts of the clothes are not made for women with curves...whether those curves come from muscles or other.

That may be the culprit. Maybe take a look at some stores or lines that are designed for a woman's body, rather than a youngin. That will address the size issue for sure, but should also give you a smoother look with what you're putting on.

I'm glad you're seeing great results!

I shop mostly Ann Taylor and Ann Taylor Loft and occasionally have trouble with the arms being a little snug. It depends on the style, and sometimes it means I don't buy that particular top. But if needed, I just size up (always the case when I shop at Target, for example) and don't pay mind to what's on the label. Better to wear a L and fit well, IMO, than look like a stuffed sausage in something smaller. :)

I am 37 and I am really picky about my tops I do not like snug and I do not like too short certain materials do not hold up after you wash them thats why I stick to these stores the lengths are all perfect. Plus I have really long arms these are the only places that seem to have em. But I do understand the Junior thing. Looks like I will have to venture out.

I wear a small in most tops but at times I have to go up a size because the arms are too tight. I don't mind though since I know it's because of muscle and not because I am gaining weight.

I've noticed this same thing, too! Not that I have hugs biceps (although I'm working hard on getting more definition), but I've noticed that tops tend to fit more snugly, even though I weigh less than I used to. :)

Yeah, I think I'm going to need a whole new shirt wardrobe this summer! I'm ready for tank top weather! ;-)
