Settin my goal time for half marathon....

OK....I'm just going on the record to publicly set my personal goals for my half marathon this Sunday.

First goal is to beat my half marathon split time from the Disney full this past January. That time was 2:26:03. So I'd first like to beat that time.

Second goal is to BEAT that. LOL. Gotta push yourself, right? I'm shooting for 10 minute miles for mile 1-3 as a warm up. Then average 9:30 miles for miles 4-13.1. Total time would then be 125 minutes (2 hours, 5 minutes).

Seems realistic. The course has rolling hills, but I'm used to that. Plus I've been averaging between 7:55 and 8:15 miles for the recent races I've been doing.

Shooting high. We'll see!

You are an inspiration Gayle! I hope to run Big Sur with you! (at least part of the way - I'm a lot slower than you are!).

I have no doubts you'll do it Gayle!! Starting out holding yourself at a slower pace usually gets great end results. I'll be rooting for ya from way out here in Cali, and just remember no matter what happens just remember what your slogan at the end of your posts reads: Keep on truckin' mama!! ;-)

Gayle,

I won't be one bit suprised if you do even better than that!

Have fun and be sure to let us all know how it goes.

Thanks, everybody! I'll be sure to post first thing Monday morning! I can't believe how excited I am for the race. I think doing all the smaller races has really helped not only with my confidence in my running skills, but also makes me more relaxed because I know what to expect now at check-in, water stations, mile splits, etc.

EXCITED, I TELL YA!!!!!!!!

Good luck, Gayle! I'll be running with you -- in heart at least. Can't actually run anymore.:-(

Good luck Gayle...I bet you will do great this Sunday....if you get a chance check out the daily running thread....Christine and I are trying to get together a group for Big Sur next year!!!!!
