Good morning..

Getting our thread started..

Today is Disc 7: Chest, shoulders & Biceps...

Be back later..

Good morning Kathy, and all! Happy Monday...... Good luck with CSB, Kathy. I do not have DOMs from my workout yesterday (CSB), but I did go awfully light. The best news is, I have no injury pain -- whoo-hooo! So, I'm working my way back......

I ended up doing Imax 3 this morning, because it was already written in my calendar and it seemed a good thing to do. Mindy looks really fun, but I'll save it for now. I ended up doing only 40 minutes of it after our thread yesterday. It was very tough to wake up, and I wasn't sure if I felt like I was getting sicker, so I decided to go easier and have some time for a nice long stretch, which I did. Funny enough I ended up doing more blasts than step combos -- I just decided I'd skip what I didn't want to do, and that's how I'd shorten it. Well, for whatever reason, I still haven't gotten some of those step combos down in imax 3, so I just kept blasting. Some of those blasts are fun! I did skip straddle taps right off the bat though! :p

I'm not sure I'm ready for this week! Chris, how's your head, and how was work? Hottie, how are your feet? Joanne, we need a birthday report! You were MIA all weekend -- bet you were busy! Hope it was fun!

Morning! Oh, how I wish I could say I was doing the workout with Kathy right now. Joe and I both went to bed way to late and we just couldn't muster the energy to get up early. I sort of need to hustle into lab early too so I shouldn't chat here for too long. I'm going to do that workout when we get home tonight and Joe may stagger it until tomorrow. I really had a nice weekend but I wish it were longer! Beth --take care of yourself! I really like the step combos of IM3 actually and if I can do them those blasts are super fun! But yeah...straddle taps in the first blast...

Hi ladies! Yep, another busy weekend. Jameson's birthday was good - not quite what he expected, but he had fun. He did have just one friend sleep over Friday night. Another couldn't sleep over, but came over until about midnight. They had fun - stayed up till 3:00am. Sunday we had football all day again. It was a beautiful day, sunny and 80. Colin played really well. One kid got heat stroke, but he is OK. That was kind of scary. I think all the equipment and the helmet made him overheated. I made Jameson's favorite cake, a lemonade layer cake. So, we had that after dinner Sunday. Oh, I did get him the ipod Touch. He was really excited. Of course, now Ian is asking for one for his birthday, which is just about six weeks away! I told him maybe for his 13th birthday.

We found out that my nephew had a freak accident at his high school this week. He's a freshman - just the nicest kid. He was in gym doing chest presses and I guess his spotter somehow wasn't paying attention or the bar slipped, but it fell on his chin. He wound up with a bunch of stitches. It could have been so much worse, but still I feel so bad for him.

Beth, that's great that your shoulder is feeling good!

Hi Hottie, Kathy!!

Chris, are you feeling better?

Jameson is going back to soccer practice today, so things are going to get even crazier with games and practices.

I started the second month of Insanity this morning. Mmmm, not sure what I'm going to do. I did OK with the workout, but it wasn't "fun". I was thinking maybe the second month would be different enough to hold my interest, but it was pretty similar, just longer. I don't know!! I guess I'll try a couple more days and see how I feel.

Kids have a half day today, so better get some work done before they get home...

Joanne

HI ladies...

I am done with today's workout...Oh, I don't like ALL those pushups!!. I made it through it though. I feel my shoulders already! I am headed out now to pick Lauren up from drawing lessons. Then, we are headed over to the track for our running practice. I call it some PE class for the kids..

Joanne: Glad Jameson is doing well and had a great birthday. What a great gift! Our schedule is busy too. We have a makeup baseball game tonight. Saturday's game got rained out. Tonight is also our CCD class. So, I have to get him out early for his dad to pick him up..Ugh!!

Hottie: enjoy your workout later!!

Beth: I just love the Imax workouts. I am doing the first one tomorrow! It took me a while to learn Imax 3 too. I fumble around one of them. Can't remember which one it was. But, the more I do it the better it is.. I think I do it next week on the rotation...

Hi Chris!!

Joanne, scary about your nephew! Could have been a lot worse, I imagine. Sounds like it was a nice birthday weekend! Scary about the heat stroke, too. We are finally back to normal with morning with fog and temps in low 50s. Sweatshirts!

On insanity..... I know if I were you, I'd just rotate them in as my cardio, and go on to some other rotation -- there's just no way I could take that every day.

Hottie, when I saw that you had posted, I was sure you were going to say you had been up for hours, work out done, since it was so hard for me to get up this morning! ;)

Beth, you'll get a kick out of this - I gave Jameson his iPod Touch Saturday night. Remember I mentioned about him being responsible and never losing his phone? Well, he's getting ready for bed and starts looking all nervous. Where's my phone? he says. I don't know, I didn't have it! So he tried to call it, didn't hear it anywhere. He remembers he had it when he was playing in the front yard earlier. So he goes out in his pajamas searching the front yard in the dark. I'm thinking - Beth jinxed us! JK ;) Doesn't find it. The tears start. Then he remembers he was also across the street at the neighbors house. Goes over there as I'm calling it looking in their front yard. Nothing. Comes back in, more panic. Remembers taking it out of his pocket when they were wrestling around and putting it on a chair on their front porch. I'm thinking, oh, great, someone saw it and took it. Goes back over there and thank the lord it was there! Whew!!

Still haven't decided about Insanity! I should at least go through all the M2 workouts - I think there's only four or five.

I just got a call from Ian's spanish teacher. He hasn't been completing his homework and he's talking too much. He told me it's a class of 34 and he only has three problem kids. Yes, Ian is one of them. :( He's bowling with DH now, but we will be having a talk this evening. I'm going to talk to him first, give him a chance to bring his grade up, if he doesn't improve, I'll tell DH. DH goes absolutely ballistic with this stuff. The teacher said Ian is very bright and has gotten 100% on all the tests and quizzes, but he's only got an 88% which is a B because of his homework. He's had straight A's since third grade. If he's having problems with the work, that's OK, but if he's goofing off and not doing his homework, that's a different story.

Have to run to take Jameson to the doctor for a follow-up...

Joanne

Howdy! Oh, its been a busy morning and its going to be busy afternoon. I did manage to swing by the school gym to go on the elliptical for 45 minutes but super light just to get the blood flowing. Came back and just had a thousand little things to deal with. Just shoved some Togos in my mouth and getting ready for the next five hours.

Joanne -- how crazy that accident! That spotter probably got yelled at like crazy. I hope your nephew will have a good recovery. That's funny how the one child wants an iPod Touch now for his bday! I'm still eyeing the Zune HDs....

Kathy -- don't scare me with the pushups! But I'm going to try and use the tower to assist me again. I'd like to those core pushups for once in my life!

Beth -- I wish!! But I'd probably be more tired that I am right now. You know, I actually went and looked up when daylights savings was so I could look forward to sleeping another hour!

Ok, off to prep...

Joanne, I did jinx you!!! Glad you found it, eventually. Was he going to run to the neighbors in his pjs?

Good luck with Ian and the spanish! That kind of stuff is so hard -- almost easier if they aren't getting it -- at least then you sort of feel like you have some control over helping out the situation!

Ok, I think I have decided to try to do STS as a two day split, so I can do one day a week of kettlebells or total body. Did you guys see my STS thread on that topic? Chris, I'm going to do legs tomorrow (switching it up like you). I thought it was odd to do it the way Cathe has it anyway......

Hey Girls!!

Late posting for me today. I just got busy, plus Greg had the ADT guy coming out to fix one of our censors on a "Between 12p-5p" schedule today. So I had to get to my workout quicker, before he took off to take the boys to CCD. And they did end up coming when he was gone. Would have interupted my workout, and I would have been an unhappy camper if that happened. So I "got to it" pretty soon after rolling out of bed this afternoon. I was feeling really tired.

My head was in a fog all last night at work, with a small right sided headache pretty much all night. And I had to deal with some pretty demanding patients to boot. Kind of sucked. But my work friends helped me through. In fact, it seemed EVERYONE had headaches last night.

So... I did STS MESO 1, DISC 1, CSB today. The only thing that sucks is going back to ALL those dang push ups again. But I liked the workout, again! LOL!. I thought of you, Beth , with all that crazy shoulder work. I'm glad you went light enough that you weren't sore. I don't want you to get hurt again!

Kathy: I guess there are STILL "all those push-ups" in week #3 too! Did you do your run at the track?

Beth: Good cardio today! I think I might run tomorrow for mine. I'm going to try to go with the shortened cardios too, and see what happens. I read your post about your "arm revelation"!!! And the more I looked at Brenda, the more I understood you! You ARE just like her!! It's too bad you couldn't get some pointers from her on how she works for her different physique.

Joanne
: Jameson's birthday sounds like it was a good one for him! That's cool you got him the ipod touch! LOL @ being jinxed on losing the phone! At least he was concerned. I swear, my Zach just gives a "whatever" attitude about it. Grrrr! Glad he found it! .... That is totally scary about your nephew's accident, so glad it wasn't worse. The spotter must have felt horrible!! (I would have!). ... Spanish is not going so great for Zach either, and it's also a LARGE class (35?). But i think it's just hard for him. I already got 2 notes home on Alex, though. Behavior. *sigh*. ..... Insanity sounds so daunting to me! I read a post on OD about someone not wanting to finish up the last month or the last few weeks. How she really didn't have the ambition to do it. I don't think I'd like workkouts like that. I look FORWARD to mine and LIKE them. ...The good thing is, you'll always have these workouts for some good cardio options!!

Hottie
: Good for YOU for getting in an elyptical on such a busy day!! You sound very motivated to get in STS tonight! Hope it goes ok! That's a good idea to stagger it over 2 days too!

Homework time for us! Got to go help Alex study to re-take a Social Studies test. He WANTS to retake it, it's all his idea and the teacher did offer, he got a 75%. I like determination!!!

Oh my I missed that post when I posted Joanne -- so cool that he found it. hopefully he will never lose it again! you know, i was a lazy student but I did my homework but mostly in fear of my mother. But my roommate in college who was crazy smart -- like, there's this scholarship by the NSA that only five people get in the country and its this special you must be a crazy mathematician code breaker scholarship that she had -- LOST her scholarship because she flamed one term (so she lost good standing at the school). Despite the fact she was reinstated in one day, the one day losing it caused her to lose her scholarship and pay all the money back (which she is today even). Anyway, she didn't flame because she didn't get the material...get this, she literally didn't submit her exam (all our exams are take home for the most part). She couldn't get her butt off to do it. She almost certainly would have been in the top three scoring too! That just personifies pure evil laziness. So after dealing with her and mommying her for half of our time in college, nothing fazes me...

Beth -- are you going to double up on STS workouts two do a 2 day split? I'm a bit confused...

Hottie, my plan it to combine the two upper body workouts -- cutting some out of each to make it not two hours long! I'll try it next weekend and see how it goes. Then legs are done on their own, and the third weight day I can do a total body.

Chris, sorry work sucked!! At least you have the week ahead of you now.... cool about Alex and the social studies test!

Ok.... I've got to finish dinner now..... (making it, that is!).....

oh, did you see there's a free itrain download today (don't know if it's just today).... code is NAT2009 -- I got Isculpt ballet barre none because I've heard it's great.
