Good morning ladies..

STS today!!! Today will be Disc 1: chest, shoulders and biceps) and no equipment abs..
I will be doing this later after the kids school lessons. We also start our after school activities today. Monday's are Lauren's art class and the kids have CCD at church this afternoon..So, it will be a busy day for us.

Beth: How is the shoulder these days?...Today we are working those shoulders.

Chris: Sorry to read you ended up going in to work last night. Hope it was an ok shift..

Big hello Vilma, Hottie and Joanne..

Be back later!

hey kathy and all those follow....

my wrist feels better so later this morning I'm going to try my first disc of STS but I will stop if my wrist hurts at all. if not, I'll just cardio it. Yesterday I had done the BM2 cardio premix save the last blast and then did HIS. Nice calorie burn.

Kathy -- that's so cool that they still have "after school" activities. My mother's idea of after school activities was more studies at home so totally jealous! ;)

Good morning and Happy Monday! Well, for Chris, anyway...... so sorry you were called in last night, and that you had to float!!! How was it?

Kathy, you may have missed it, but I realized I have to lay off of upper body weights for a few weeks..... I had a bit of a relapse. I'm so bummed not to be starting with you guys -- it's deja vu all over again..... the last three months of my calendar are going to be such a scribbled mess -- oh well!! Hope you enjoy disc 1!

I did Imax 2 this morning..... it's amazing how much she gets those arms going in there -- I must have looked like quite the doofus not getting my left arm into it (and consequently not using the right quite as much either). I was very curious to see what it might do to the hrm numbers, but they were pretty similar to the last time I did it, which looked like June! How can that be?! I can't believe I haven't done that workout since June..... I may have missed it somewhere..... anyway, I followed by a long stretch for my back and shoulders. I also did some yoga for neck and shoulders last night before I went to bed. Found a couple of good stretches from a yoga podcast, but unfortunately it froze toward the end, so don't know what I might have missed!

I am starting out my day with carrots..... I will eat eggs or something, too, but figure if I start off with veggies, maybe I'll do better all day long......

have a great day......

Hottie: Glad you are going to be able to join us on Disc 1...I never got to do much afterschool stuff either. That is why I make sure the kids get to do something they like. Chris isn't into drawing. He likes sports mostly. So, that is what he does. Lauren likes the arts. So, I have her doing this drawing class and she is in the church choir...

Beth: Sorry, I think I did miss were you said you reinjured your shoulder...Bummer! Maybe it will get better and you can pick up upper body soon..

Ok, back to lessons. We will be heading out soon for the drawing lesson...

THE TOWER HAS ARRIVED!!!!

Sweet!!!

Just finished Disc 1 -- WOW! CLX has NOTHING on this. So much, so fast! (maybe too fast...) Anything with pushups I had to bail half way though because of the wrist (and seriously, I knew EXACTLY when I was not having proper alignment in my writs). My shoulders feel worked...my biceps, I picked up some wrong weights, and my chest is weird...like I don't feel it like the shoulders but even with the pansy pushups I was doing, I was shaking by the time flies came around. Oh, and I couldn't do a single straddle pushup. I don't know if its the wrist or I the fact I just can't do it right. Probably a combination.

And the inspector guy came out and our chimney is now cleared for safety (because we sealed it off) but that means we can finally get our occupancy permit (though we may change the water heater too). We shall see...lounging until work after lunch most likely.

Whooo-hoooo, Hottie -- good going on disc 1! Did you and Joe do it at the same time, or will you be doing it at different times on the same day. I can't imagine how that works! I'm envious......

Hey, is anyone having trouble with vf forum? It worked earlier, but now I just keep getting error messages.....

Quickie!!!

I did MESO 1 , DISC 1, Shoulders, Biceps and Chest!

Funny thing is I had this "crick" in my neck , upper shoulder, I *think* I had from sleeping on it. So I had to modify, mostly some of the push ups.

That workout DOES go so fast!! WOW!... boom! boom! boom! you hardly know what's hitting you!

BBL!

I'm back...

Yeah, so work sucked last night. Did I tell you I was sick of floating? I ended up on this VERY different unit. It's 1/2 Day Stay (procedures like Cardiac Catherizations) and then 1/2 for "Observation" patients. Meaning, patients that aren't very acute, but need maybe 1-2 days of "observing". I had 3 freakin patients. 3. And they were VERY un-acute. The strongest thing I gave for meds was tylenol. I got 1 admission. A 92 year old man who fell off his bike and hurt his leg. This guy was THE cutest and spryest 92 yr old I've ever met! He rides his bike 10 miles a day, still. When he was younger, he'd always ride his bike, to and from work, and clocked in at 13,000 miles! God bless him!! But, still. It was soooo boring. I read my book. they REALLY needed me..NOT! I was pissed about that too. But whatever. I got to leave at 6:30am, because their shifts are 6p-6a, and their dayshift came in at 6a.

Kathy: Woo hoo on Day 1 of STS! It's a little daunting to be starting over, and having 3 months ahead of us. But also exciting!! How did you end up doing and feeling about it? Nice that the kids have after school stuff to do!! But yes, it gets WICKED crazy/busy. My boys start CCD next week. Jake and Alex are on Mondays after school. Zack is going to be going on every other SUnday night for 1.5 hours.

Hottie: I was wondering if you were going to start today! Glad your wrist feels better!!! I had to stop short on the stagger push-ups, it hurt my neck/shoulder. But I did what I could. ALL on my knees, BTW. Good to hear your chimney is all fixed!!! Another thing behind you!...What are your plans for cardio with STS? Are you going to follow Cathe's rotation or do your own thing?

Beth: WOO HOO on IM2!! I don't think I've done it in forever either. It's on tomorrow's schedule, but I'm goign to run, andprobably save it for later in the week when it rains. I guess you don't notice the arms unless you can't move them! LOL!. I know, I need to get more veggies in , I really do!

Oh, I also did the Extended Stretch. That sure felt good!!!! I'm going to try to do more stretching this time around too.

Today is Jake's 8th Birthday! We're all kind of 'birthday'd out', and I bought cookies for him to bring into school, instead of making something. I also ALMOST forgot to ask him for his choice for birthday supper! Glad he chose Greg's Mac & Cheese!! Less for me! hehe! ... I was good and had leftover Black Bean Veggie Soup, A Boca Burger and a salad..

Hi ladies..

Checking back in with my day complete for now!! HAHA..Still have to clean up the dinner mess! I did Disc 1 today and survived ALL the pushups. I forgot how many there were in meso 1...Everyone did wonderfully on day 1....

Gotta get dinner cleaned up. I will try to stop back by..

Oh, Happy Birthday to Jake!!

There are so many pushups, aren't there?!

Chris, sorry work was so boring! Sometimes boring is good at a hospital, I suppose. I love the story of the old guy -- hope the fall won't keep him off of his bike!

So funny.... my kids only like Larry's mac-n-cheese -- I guess we had this conversation, did we? He makes it from scratch and puts curry powder in it. They will not eat boxed! (it can get really embarrassing when we're at other people's houses and that's what they are trying to serve the kids for dinner.....)

My neck/back/whatever it is bothered me much earlier in the day today.... not a good sign. Dylan says "well quit doing yoga then!" (you dumb-ass -- that was the tone in his voice). Which reminds me.... we had a great laugh on the way home from school. Travis was talking about how he hates square dancing and it's the only kind of dance the 5th graders do, so he's stuck with it. Dylan thought we had said "swear dancing" -- so we just howled about what "swear dancing" would be like. I told Travis he should tell Ms. Moore (the PE/dance teacher), but then I realized he'll probably tell his friends about it and they'll all call it that from now on and.... oh no.... who knows where it might lead!

Nope! That fall won't keep the 92 yr old from his bike. He had fallen before and had to get hip surgery, PLUS, he had had 2 knee replacements. And all those times he got back up on that bike! The plan was for him to go to rehab today. THe only thing NOT so cute about him was, he was VERY hard of hearing. So at 1am, the entire floor could hear him telling me he "was happy he got the pretty nurse", and asking me for a date! I told him I had to ask my husband first! OMG, he was a riot !!

That is funny about your husband's mac and cheese! Greg's isn't as "exotic". He just melts a crapload of american cheese slices on cooked noodles, and SWEARS by Parkay Margarine in it too!

Even funnier about the "Swear Dance"! That would start my guys going good too! LOL!!!

Hi friends!! I can't remember when I last checked in, but I did start back with Insanity. I did KCM's Muscle Definition I think Friday. OMG - I was sore for three days! Then started back with Insanity. I'm getting a bit tired of the month one workouts. I may cut it short a week and start the month two workouts. Tomorrow I'm going to do KCM's body training (the floorwork one) instead of recovery workout for Insanity.

Chris, wow, about the 92 year old!! Very cool that he is still so active. Happy b'day to Jake!!

Oh, Caitlyn's party was fun. Everyone came, so there were nine girls altogether. They had a blast.

Beth, good idea to start with veggies! Larry's mac and cheese sounds good! I feel like swear dancing sometimes. ;)

Hottie, very cool about the tower!! Have fun with it! Meso 1 does move really fast, but you kind of get used to it.

Hi Kathy and Vilma!

Jameson is still not doing well. I was feeling really down tonight. Still am...but trying to hold it together. He's just so weak. We went out this weekend to a festival (DH's idea, not mine). I thought it was crazy to bring Jameson out. He got really weak and just wanted to sit down. We didn't stay long. Then at my SILs 50th birthday he slept with his head on the table most of the time. He's running a low grade fever, but the dr. tells me it might be normal for him. No, it's not. They won't consider it a fever until its 102. He's got a lot of pain on his side where the pneumonia is. We went to the dr. today and she sent us for a chest xray. Nothing unusual to cause the pain except the pneumonia which will take awhile to clear. So why didn't he have this pain before? He was thin before and has lost so much weight - he's walking around like a frail old man. He's depressed cause he's missing school adn worried about making up his work. Some of his teachers sent some work home, but not all of them. I just finished sending emails to them all explaining what was going on and that we don't know when he'll be able to come back. I just want him to be back to himself. The poor kid has been through so much.

Gotta go get everyone else in bed...

Joanne
