Good morning ladies..

Today is Disc 6 Legs....I guess I am ready for it and the DOMS I am sure to experience this weekend...

Be back later..

Good Morning, Kathy! Good morning everyone!!

You go on DISC 6! Let us know how it goes and what your favorite part is! (and your least favorite!).

And guess what?....I THINK I'm feeling better today!!

I'm SOOOOO excited, and happy and in THE best mood right now! Let me at the world, I'm feeling good!

So I'm going to work out!!! What should I do. I'm thinking a circuit today and a little cardio tomorrow. So maybe LIC, or at least some of it, today. I wish there was a shortened premix of LIC that had upper and lower body in it. I guess what I can do is just go through it until I'm pooped, at least get through a few of the circuits.

Hottie: The vacuum sounds very cool!, but yeah, they don't excite me so much, but you go! LOL!!... Cool you're finding good uses for your tower. I didnt' realize you could do push-ups on it!

Beth: Hope your upper body feels ok today after weights yesterday!! OMG on the stove being left on! I remember waking up one morning, and there was INTENSE heat coming from our stove/oven. Come to find out, there was something very wrong with it and it was on at like 500 degrees and you couldn't shut it off! The entire kitchen was hot! Scary!!

to Joanne and Vilma!!!

Chris: Glad you are feeling better!!! I think your plan for a workout sounds good!! Enjoy it. I love LIC..

OH yeah, and I forgot to tell you when I realized I might be turning a corner on this crappy sickness.

It was at Alex's school picnic last night. We all brought picnic suppers and they had a band and a dunk tank! (It was fun). And everyone brought dessert for the dessert table!

Suddenly, I WANTED dessert! I actually had an APPETITE for something! I ate so many cookies, brownies, popcorn and chocolatey things, it was crazy.  Almost undid the few lbs I was down from NOT eating all week!!!!

Edited to say: THANKS KATHY!!!!!

good morning! today is cardio, I think its MIC but I don't have that one so I'm not sure which one I'll be doing. Probably a mish mosh of sorts but I'm considering a BM2 cardio premix or a 4DS one...I'm not jumping into the workout though because my right foot feels really crappy...like, almost if there was some kind of corn or blister forming on the inside. My feet have been bothering me so much lately...like the balls are killing me before the day is even done. I already called the people who shaped my orthotics and I'm dropping by there to see what's up..

Kathy -- have fun with disc 6! I'll be doing that tomorrow but maybe after some KB cardio to make up for Wednesday shift.
Chris -- yay, appetite! Yes, I'm crazy about vacuums. I don't know why I'm like that. Weirdly enough, dysons never appealed to me. Joe thinks its because I think its "snooty." Not that I'm going to buy any of them...I knew the fires were going to kill our electricity bill but it shot over $200 from the previous bill. Sheesh. We really need to put in an attic fan because a good chunk of the problem is the heat gets trapped up there but maaan, say good bye to anything new. Oh well, its better this way anyway. :) Why don't you just only do 2 segments of LIC? I think if you do WM + #1 + #2 + ST its around 40 minutes. Then you'll hit upper and lower too. I use the Turbo Tower to assist with the pushups and it was a little easier on my wrists which I'm still being careful with. By having it a bit elevated, it makes the pushups a little easier.

Eek, its going to be a slow start to the day but I'm happy its Friday. I also am wondering if I get out of meeting with my boss today because we had an impromptu meeting yesterday and it essentially served the purpose of updating and giving advice on how to go forward. I'm thinking about letting Joe do an STS workout while I process some more data with my foot healing a bit...we'll see how long he takes with the dog outside...

Hey all! Chris, I'm so glad to hear you're feeling better!!! Whooo-hooo! So funny about realizing it at dessert -- my appetite has not been nearly it's really loud self this week, either. But, I'm mostly feeling fine -- I have no issues after doing weights yesterday, so I'm really really happy, too! We're starting Monday, Chris? I think I will still go lighter on some of the weights and not sure how I'll handle the pushups.

Kathy, I forgot to tell you yesterday but I knew when there was no thread started by you and that it was Thursday that you were probably just having a hard time getting to the computer. Figured Chris was sick in bed! So funny how we can sort of picture what each other is doing. Go on the legs -- good luck sitting down this weekend. :) I think I can finally sit without pain and what, that was Monday that I did legs!

I've been awake since about 3:30. I got up at 4:00, because Larry was awake and told me he didn't want me to wake him up later. He's had a hard time sleeping lately, and I know my getting up wakes him up, so.... while he was awake already I decided to go ahead and get up. I did yoga -- it's a rest day for me. There were some down dogs into plank and I was able to do those -- sort of pushup-like, so, who knows -- maybe I can do some of the many STS pushups. After I did the yoga and it was only about 5:00, I really wanted to crawl back into bed, but didn't want to bother Larry, so I found a blanket and pillow and laid in front of the tv watching a bit of Milk, which I started last weekend and still didn't finish!

Going to be another crazy day for me -- meeting at work, some errands to run, soccer practice, and then our friends are coming to make sushi for us tonight. They'll spend the night and work on the garden tomorrow.

Have a happy Friday! Chris, no work for you this weekend, is that right? Waves to Joanne, Hottie, and Vilma!

Hottie, I owe you a beer! Sorry to hear about your feet! And your electric bill! We keep talking about getting an attic fan, too...... supposed to be hot this weekend! :( It's been hot all week......

Hey Again!

I ended up doing LIC, the entire 2 first cycles, and then skipped the cardio on cycle 3, and did just the weights. Skipped abs, did the stretch.

It might have been a teeny bit too much (but I loved it!). My head is a little "off" now (lightheaded). My stomach felt "weird" too, but I think it may have been hunger!?! I ate my USUAL cottage cheese w/blueberries post workout, and I LIKED it (no aversions!!).

Today is THE perfect Autumn days, sunny, cool, leaves are starting to change. I do love this time of year. Hope to get outside for a bit later..

Hottie: OH ouch! Sorry your foot hurts! Hope the orthotic peeps can help! Seems like it would be too hard to any cardio with that? Another OUCH! on that electric bill. That's how I feel in the winter with our gas bill for heat. It can get WAY up there. The summer months are sweet though!

Beth: YAY! for no issues after weights!!! I'm definitely starting STS on Monday again. Let's do it! Like I said, maybe just do the push-ups table-top, reallllll simple. Don't get hurt!! And go slow on the weights. You know, I know. ... The sleep thing sounds horrible this morning! You are going to be tired later for sure!... At least you don't feel fatigue with the stomach. I'd go with the less vengence! ... Oh yes, I am going to work this weekend. I HAVE to! Holy crap, it feels like I haven't been there in WEEKS! I think I did ONE 8 hour shift (11-7) 2 weeks ago! i think I'll be fine. Ido feel SO much better today, tomorrow should be even BETTER. and oddly enough, I kind of look forward to going back. In fact (this is weird), I had a dream about work last night, and it was even a nightmare-ish dream, where there weren't enough nurses and I had WAY too many patients, and I didn't even mind! See, weird!! hope it doesn't come back and kick me in the arse for saying that!

Okay, better get going...shoppin' , cleaning and laundry awaits! (and the beautiful day!)

Hi ladies!

Chris, it's so good to see you feeling better! I felt so bad for you yesterday when I saw your post. I'm sure work misses you! Hope tonight is not like your dream! ;)\

Hottie, hope the ortho can help with your foot. Ouch! You're lucky you don't have MIC! ;) No guilt over not doing it, cause it's tough and long!!

Kathy, are your legs ready to be sore again? ;)

Beth, oh yea, you will be tired later. Glad to hear your shoulder is doing better. So, am I the only one not doing STS here? I feel left out! JK. I'm tempted to do it, but want to finish Insanity, since I never seem to finish what I start! I may rotate a week of KCM with a week of Insanity though. She has a couple good rotations using the new DVDs. That way I won't get bored with Insanity and it won't kill me!

I'm tired today. Last night was the Mehndi ceremony. My friend from work looked beautiful and it was a beautiful ceremony, except it started two hours late! :( We went straight from work - it was supposed to start at 6:30. Well, we sat, and we sat, and we sat. Hardly anyone was there. Her inlaws were late and they needed to be there before it started. They finally arrive at 8:30. I had to leave at 9:00 cause DH was supposed to go to work. They finally started around 8:50 - I saw 10 minutes and had to go. They hadn't even served the food yet. I got home around 10:00, ate something and did some stuff around the house. DH didn't go to work, which was fine, but it would have been nice if he told me before I rushed home. He said he wanted to hang out and "party" with me. ;) I said I'm pooped and need to go to bed!! He had other things in mind, but I was too exhausted. I'd been out of the house for 15 hours!

Also when I got home Jameson was really upset because it turns out only one friend can sleep over tonight. He was planning on four. The one kid didn't ask his parents till 9:30 last night and they said no cause he had a baseball game in the morning. The other two had told him they couldn't a few days ago. I told him to just make the best of it and have fun with his friend that is coming. They're going to the homecoming game of the high school he might go to. They are giving free tickets to 7th and 8th graders and having a pizza party for them at halftime. He wants an ipod touch for his birthday. I'm debating on that. I was planning on getting him a ipod nano, more affordable, but we'll see.

No workout this morning, since DH was in my workout space! ;( I may go to the gym to use the treadmill during lunch.

Have a good day all!

Joanne

Yes, I'm going to be very tired this afternoon! I can feel it already. If it weren't so hot, I might take a nap in the car while the kids are at soccer, but it'll be way too hot for that. Chris, I'm so envious of your autumn weather -- it's my favorite time of year.

Joanne, that's so crazy about the two hour late start time last night! Ug, you must have been so tired! It's too bad you didn't get to see more. And sad about the sleepover turnout, but the football game and pizza party sounds like fun! On the ipod issue.... does he lose things the same way Chris' son does with the cell phones? If so, I'd go for the nano. I just realized yesterday that it's almost time to be starting to think about xmas presents -- yikes! My kids so want rock band, but I need to convince Larry first.

Joanne, I have looked at KCM's rotations, but I don't understand them! All those initials and whatnot -- do you know if there's a cheat sheet anywhere (almost typed as "cheat shit")? And on that note, do you know if anyone has a list of her workout times and premix times anywhere, like Lainie Fig has for Cathe?

Ugh, I'm so pissy. So, I decided against doing anything at home since my right foot still felt funny. No pain but its like the bones in my foot are out of a kink or something. Sometimes step helps because I literally push it into place but sometimes I just end up ending something early because it doesn't feel better. So, I put on some new clothes (hindu holiday) which was this adorable K-swiss athletic top I got and I was an idiot and asked joe what he thought to which he decided to channel his inner gay guy and tell me that though it was a cute outfit, that the black of the top was clearly new and made the black of my pants look like it had faded more than it had and that the white stripe didn't go well with the blah blah blah....seriously, I just stared at him until he realized to shut the hell up. (and he got a freaking STS workout in so I was particularly jealous.) Then on the 110S, which usually is good on Fridays, took forever, which meant I got into lab later than I had wanted to (because I thought I was going to set up somethings and go to the school gym if my foot felt better) but by the time I get to park it was already 80 degrees. And then for some reason I thought I had an easy day so I could drop by whenever I wanted to at the gym and process my data during the day and then as I walked to my bench all these experiments came smacking me in forehead with a big letter "L" telling me, Nope! Remember??!?! You wanted to graduate! <pouty> And my tummy I think got car sick and I'm a bit headachy so now I'm grumpy.

<bitch bitch moan moan>

Beth -- attic fans are great and i've been debating about getting a solar one. I know it will help our house in particular because the A/C is on longer when we've had a couple days in a row with heat because it just gets trapped up there as opposed to if we had one hot day followed by one cool day for a couple sets in a row. Joe was in the car trying to brainstorm other ways to reduce the electricity bill and I was like, it's the freaking A/C. How many different ways can I show you the math. You already piss in the dark (and it scares the crap out of me -- HA, I made a funny) -- what else are you going to do? Seriously, its just the A/C. So, I listed a bunch of things we can do to cut on cooling costs. Heating isn't a big deal for me -- I like it cold for the most part (well, SoCal cold) so in the winter time, our bill drops big time (except last year when we had a big hole in our ceiling...). I told Joe we should consider getting A/C or evaporative cooler units for the gym and bedroom and I am not kidding, in the car, well, "what's the cost benefit analysis of the units?" "I'm not sure, I haven't done the math." "What?? Why not?" Man, if looks could kill....though he picked up the message pretty quickly. which console are you going to get rock band for?

Chris -- yay on LIC! Move some of the weather westbound please? 100 degrees for the last four days and for another four days...it's cute to see you get excited over work. I wonder when/if I'll ever be like that.

Joanne! I could have told you Indians don't start anything on time. ANYTHING. When people were asking when to arrive at my wedding I gave them this time frame and they were like, huh? And I explained that people just arrive when they feel like it and its always 1-2 hrs after you tell them. Particularly actual Indian ceremonies. I swear, my heart will stop if I ever attend an Indian ceremony on time. I'm chucking at Beth being surprised at the 2 hr delay...even JOE could tell you that's just how it is. Maybe you can join us for Meso 2 on STS? Then we all could be synced...

Ok, how the hell am I hungry? I know I ate like 4.5 hrs ago but its 10a!! And seriously, what's the point in waking up early if I can't work out...seriously, I'm in a very whiny mode right now. Going to shove some yogurt in my mouth to see if it will squash it...

OMG, Beth...you need to go check your pregnant friend!!!

MY pregnant friend just emailed me a picture of her NEW BABY!!! She had her baby!!!

We truly have been praying hard the last 2 nights for her (and your friend, Julie!).

Chris, no baby yet! A couple of days ago the midwife told them it could be two more weeks! Congrats to your friend!!

Hottie, our electric bill was $100 more this last month, if that makes you feel any better. I don't know what I'll do on the console issue. A friend sent me some good info on options! ;)

Hottie, take care of that foot!! Funny about the new outfit.....

Hi again. I did a 60-minute itread during my lunch! So far, I've only eaten a small bag of peanut M&M's to sabotage my effort. ;( I have to go buy some snacks for Jameson's sleepover - I better not buy anything I like!

Hottie - seriously??? It's normal to run two hours late?? This family is from Pakistan, so I don't know if it's the same mindset, but I really don't want to be sitting waiting two hours for the wedding to start tomorrow. I declined the invitation to the reception which the groom's family is hosting Sunday - 450 people!! Plus, only my name was on the invitation so I didn't know if DH was included. But others have said they are bringing their spouses. I knew we'd have too much going on. I'm laughing about Joe's running commentary on your outfit! Sometimes they just don't know when to stop, do they?? :p Hmmm, that's an idea about joining you for Meso 2. That one actually was my favorite month, I think. Talk to me again in a month. ;)

Beth, Jameson is really pretty good about not losing stuff. The only time he "lost" a cell phone was when I washed it in his pants pocket. I was looking onlne and the 8GB Touch is only $80 more than the 8GB Nano. He's had a rough time lately, so I want to do something nice for him. We'll see. I was thinking of telling him I'll give him the money to buy a Nano (which is what he asked for originally but changed his mind when he saw my Touch) and if he wants to put in the rest of the money, he can get the Touch. We'll see. Who am I kidding? I'll probably get the Touch - I'm such a softie! I know, KCM's rotations are a bit hard to understand with all the abbreviations. On her forum she's been posting a rotation for the week. The first week is pretty easy to understand, but she abbreviates the second week. It's her new ones (bd = body definition, md = muscle definition) and the other 30 minute ones she has. She just says weights for the 30 minutes Weights DVD. I don't think it has another name. Then there's the kickboxing one (kb) and the bootcamp (bc). I don't think there's a list of the premixes and times, but the times are listed on the premix menus on the DVD. I know - xmas is sneaking up on us. The boys have Rock Band and love it. It's pretty funny to watch them do it. A lot of the songs are older, so it's funny to watch them learn those songs I grew up with.

Have to get some work done...have a great weekend if I don't stop in again.

Joanne

hey joanne -- well, if they're Muslim, I wouldn't know specific traditions, but if its like the Hindu ceremonies, its very casual compared to American civil stuff. Like here, everybody sits down quietly and watches the reception. At my wedding, seriously, only the non-indians did that. Everyone else was just having a party while I suffered. We had a 2 hr cocktail time from 12-2, and it was supposed to start at 2, but I think we got in all the beginning parts (like the groom coming, then the bride) and sat down with the priest more like at 245 and we were doing AWESOME compared to most hindu weddings. Though I'm almost certain this is the case, if they invite you, they invite your whole family. It was a whole big deal because my parents didn't understand why they had to send out invites to siblings because they thought it was assumed, "of course they're invited, I sent the invite to their mother/sister/brother!?!?" Most eastern food is buffet/family style anyway so its not like you're worried about specific plate counts. Just to give you an example...one couple who were friends with my father didn't bother to RSVP. My mother calls the night before and asks them and they said, oh yes, of course we're coming...and then (which they didn't bother to tell) brings their SEVEN FULLY ADULT sons. So, its usually expected. My wedding was considered on the small side btw -- 300-350 people...

I see.... Jameson "lost" his cell phone when you did the wash, eh? :) I remember you telling us about that. I know what you mean about being a softie -- I'm the same way. Lucky kids!

Thanks for the kcm notes -- I get her new ones, I think, but I don't know if it was strange names for the premixes, or maybe her older ones, or what, but I looked at it a couple of times and then gave up!

I have a friend from Pakistan (should have asked him about the gift question, Joanne!) and so I've heard about the giant weddings that go on for days and days. Crazy -- the money that's spent -- crazy!!
