Good morning ladies..

Disc 3 for me today..Legs! I think I remember wall squats in this one. Someone reminded my of that a couple of days ago. UGH!! Those were tough!

Be back later to chat..

Hey Kathy!

Hey Everyone!!

Not the greatest of mornings. I don't feel so good. The cold got me in spite of Ziacam and chicken soup. I can feel it in my sinuses and my throat...ick ick ick.

I did a DOOZY last night. I'm so pissed at myself for it. I took Zach to Open House (the band and chorus put on a little thingie before we went to meet the teachers). The OH started at 6:30p. That's fine, I thought yesterday, we'll behome in plenty of time for Greg to leave for work at 8:15p. So as I'm in the auditorium, we're standing to do the Pledge of Allegiance... the cell phone rings! It's Alex, complaining about homework. Ugh! ... As I'm in a CLASSROOM listening to one of Zach's teachers speak, the phone rings! It's Alex, complaining about homework and wanting ME to come home to do it with him. I shut off the phone!... I was so embarassed my phone kept ringing. ... The evening goes on, I put the phone back on, and RING RING, AGAIN in the middle of class. I just turned it off, didn't answer the phone. Anyhow, come to find out, it was 8:30p when we walked out of there, and I gave NO THOUGHT to Greg having to go to work!!! I called home to check in, he was FURIOUS! He could NOT be late for work (he's apparently been late a few times, which he never told me), so he ended up NOT going at all! OMG, the house was a ruckus, i felt like dog poo. Seriously, I cried, the kids whined (he had them dressed ready to bring them into work with him, but then realized I had his car and his work ID.). It was a mess... OH, and then Zach also tells me, "I lost my cell phone, Mom". this is the 3rd cell phone he's damaged/lost. Not a good night....

SO yes, I feel like shit, but I'm going to do something. Probably IM2 today. tomorrow I will do STS DISC 3: Legs and Sunday, try to get in another cardio.

Kathy: DON'T tell me how bad DISC 3 is! Tell me how much you liked it!!! :p

Hottie
: Reading your post yesterday, being an arm-chair doctor here, I'd have to guess you have IBS , (Irritible Bowel Syndrome). Have you heard of it? Some of your symptoms are SOOOO classic IBS. A friend at work has it and sounds just like you too. I'm not really sure of the treatment. .... Glad you figured out the eye/glassed/dizziness thing. Though it makes it hard to do workouts not knowing what to wear for your eyes?.... The dresses sound very pretty. I wish I was a dress person. I'm more a jeans/sneaker person. I can NOT wear heals or even squishy topped shoes. I like wide roomy shoes only!!

Beth: thanks for explaining P57 Express workout again! Not sure if/when I could really fit that in with STS, but you never know!... And yes, as long as you and Larry are in agreement on financial issues, that is ALL that matters! ... Will you get to ride on the motorcycle too? Are you just a teeny bit excited about it?

*WAVES* to Vilma and Joanne!

Will check back in later!!!!. Really got to find some motivation to do IM2 now, I so don't feel like it. But maybe it will clear out my head?!?!

Happy Friday!

Kathy..... oooow, I remember those wall squats! (I'd completely forgotten them) Good luck!

Chris! So sorry to hear about last night! I hate it when we have that kind of stress here. I hope today works out to be a better day for you, but I'm sorry about the cold, too! Maybe you should just stay in bed today! (as if you could!)

Wow. I did that Shoulder Shape-Up dvd this morning. First, I'll remind you that I did the total body solutions exercises yesterday, and last night I felt better than I have in a while. So this morning I walked through the shoulder shape up stuff -- they have a tutorial that's longer than the "practice" -- that's what I did. It's got a few of the same things from Debbie's, but she explains the moves much better, and it's got a whole lot more. It's really great! If she has one for the hamstrings/glutes, I'm going to try that one too! I feel like I feel better already, though I also feel sort of "worked", so it'll be interesting to see how I feel by the end of the day. I'm very happy about that!

Re: the motorcycle...... I told Larry you comment, by the way, and he immediately asked for your email address. :D Don't worry, I didn't give it to him -- he won't stalk you. :) You know..... I have really mixed feelings about it. When I was in high school, a good friend of mine was on a motorcycle and was killed by a drunk driver while on it. When Larry and I first got together, he had just started working at a start-up -- it was maybe 10 people -- and the CEO got a motorcycle and killed himself on it. He had three young kids -- it was very sad. So, those things really stick in my brain. That said, I have taken the motorcycle safety foundation course, so I've ridden myself, and I know it is fun, and I know plenty of people ride every day without dying. I'll probably go on a ride with him eventually. He does look really good in the motorcycle jacket, I must say. I told him if he sells the bike, he needs to keep the jacket. He came to bed with it on last night. :p I was too tired......

Ok, now that I've given you all way tmi..... time to go pack lunches and so on..... there is the last minute morning homework finishing session happening, too!

happy day!

Hi all. I decided to ditch Insanity for the day and do KCM's plyo workout, which is kind of like Insanity-lite. Wow, it felt really easy. I do think Insanity is building my endurance, but I don't see much else happening. I had lost a couple pounds, but those are back. :( I've been doing it for four weeks, but only am at the end of the third week of the rotation since I spread it out a bit. I'm think I'm going to jump ahead to the month two workouts. You're supposed to do this one workout every day for the recovery week, called Cardio Core and Balance, I think. I'll try it out, but I'm sure I won't do it every day. Maybe I'll do a few circuits.

Oh Chris, believe me, I've been there and I feel for you. Both on the homework and making sure the DH gets to work. Sorry you are feeling cruddy and had such a crappy night. ((()))I was at Jameson's open house last night, get home at 8:30 and Caitlyn has saved her math homework for me. It would be fine, but for some reason she pretends like she doesn't know the answer or how to do it, when I know she does cause she was doing it in kindergarten. Very frustrating. I always have to wake up DH at 9:30 every night to get ready for work. At this point in the evening I'm exhausted and just want to sit. Or better yet, go to bed. But he leaves for work at 10:15, so if I'm asleep by 11:00, I'm lucky. I've very rarely missed the 9:30 wake up, but when I have it's not good.

Beth, I totally get your concerns with the motorcycle. Too funny about the jacket. So was he wearing JUST the jacket?? ;) That's good you've found something to help your shoulder.

Colin brought his tuba home yesterday. OMG -it's huge. He's hilarious playing. I must say, it's a lot less painful to listen to than when Jameson started his clarinet. Much deeper - not so screeching. ;) But, he's really into it, which is good.

Kathy, I couldn't do those wall squats with the weights. Good luck!

Tonight is a bonfire and pep rally for football. Colin is excited cause they introduce all the players and the run around the practice field. Sunday is the homecoming game.

Have a good day all...

Joanne

Oh my...

I'm not feeling so great.

I did do 6 IMAX2 intervals, really thinking if I got a good sweat in, I'd feel better. I never really felt good doing it. My head is weird. I did skip #6 interval, because I hate those fast feet thingies, they KILL me, and did do #7 (bunny hops and jumps). I stopped after that. Still wasn't feeling good. I decided to do a Stretchmax to be "nice" to my body. But that ain't cutting it either. I'm getting these shooting pains up both sides of my neck and my entire body feels achey , like I just ran a marathon (not that I ever did, I'm just imagining). My low back has been hurting since last night too, but I attribute that to STS Back work.

Crap.

Beth: Your shoulder work seems to be the ticket for you!!! I hope you found your answer for rehabbing your shoulder and you get it back in a few weeks!!... LOL @ Larry emailing me! That is too funny! Yeah, once you know people that get into bad accidents with bikes, it kind of ruins the fun. But I swear, it's usually people are not being safe on motorcycles, doing stupid things. I saw one on my way home from my class on Wednesday, ride up in between 2 lanes of stopped traffic, to cut in front. Not too smart. It's been a very long time since I rode on a bike, though. .... OMG, you made me LOL about Larry wearing the jacket to bed!!

Greg is still sleeping on the couch. Wish I was. .... I know, it's because he has to go into work tonight... but still! I feel crappy, yet I have stuff to do. Shopping and I MUST go to the library... a book I ordered is in:

The Unlikely Disciple: A Sinner's Semester at America's Holiest University

It's a true story of the author's experience going to Liberty University founded by Jerry Falwell. It was an "undercover student experience".

I just finished a book that sucked! It was so hard to get through, I hated it. But somehow felt the need to finish it. I know, I'm weird!! LOL!

Joanne! I'm cracking up at the jacket with nothing else! No! He was wearing jeans, fortunately..... I'm not sure the other would have had the same effect, ironically.

That's great about the tuba! How the heck does he get it to and from school?! Fun about the names being announced at football -- exciting! Did I tell you that at the meeting at school the other night the superindent (who has a daughter at the high school) told us we should all take our kids to a high school football game to see what goes on? He said buy them a burger and send them on their way. You won't like what you see, but it's reality. Oh my!

Chris -- I really think you should try to spend some time in bed today! That does not sound good. You don't have to work tonight, do you? You should call in sick. The book you're getting sounds intriguing. I finish only a small fraction of books I start -- I feel like there are just too many books out there to stick with one that doesn't interest me. I picked one up at the bookmobile yesterday and thought.... "did I start this one another time?" but no, it's something different.

Oh, on the shoe comment.... do you ever wear danskos? It's pretty much all I wear because to me they feel like flat shoes, but they give me that extra 1-1/2" height that's always a bonus on my short legs!

And where do you suppose all of those lost cell phones are?! That's crazy!

Beth, now you're cracking me up making me envision the jacket and the jacket alone. Not sure I want to go there! ;) You're right, probably doesn't have the same effect! But, I had to ask. ;) Oh, no, Colin doesn't have to take the tuba to and from school. Thank goodness - they give us a rental to keep at home and they have one he'll use at school. He just has his own mouthpiece. I was worried about having to rent to buy this thing, but we only have to pay $75 for the entire year to rent it. We had to pay $35 a month for Jameson's clarinet for either two or three years. These instruments are expensive! I tell you - these grade school football games can get pretty rough. I can only imagine high school. We have a few years to think about that.

Chris, if you're feeling like that after working out, your body is trying to tell you it needs rest instead. It sounds like a bit more than a cold, don't overdo it and make yourself even more sick. I'm like you - if I start a book, I have to finish it, even if I'm not into it. Crazy. I wish I was more like Beth! I feel like if I do it once, I'll never finish a book. That one sounds interesting.

I'm starving, but trying to hold off on lunch. If I eat now, I'll be starving again by 2:00 and eat something bad. What to do???? OK - I'll eat now..

Joanne

Morning all...will i talk as much as yesterday...probably not...but you never know...

Chris -- I had actually asked if it were IBS the last time I had problems but the doctor dismissed it. I'm going again in an hour so we'll see what they say this time. I've been downing this peppermint tea to help since peppermint is supposed to break up gas bubbles. I woke up again in the middle of the night but I don't think its because of the pain but now I'm used to waking up at 230a. Yeah, so I went on the computer to just get me sleepy and I call Evee to come to me, she comes, gets uber petted, and then goes back to bed because apparently my affection isn't good enough to pull her out of bed...last night sounds horrible for you. I've definitely been on greg's side...where not going at all is better than being late. All of you are really patient with your children's homework. I think I was too afraid to bother my own parents...I hope your back feels better! I was worried about my back too on Wednesday so I rolled around on the ball for a while...

Kathy -- don't scare me, don't scare me! We both intend on doing that workout later tonight...we are so scared of Cathe leg workouts...

joanne -- that's awesome that you're endurance is increasing! Tuba, eh? I think Joe played some really loud brass instrument too. My parents told me recently that they were so happy that we went from killing cats to actually sounding good rather quickly when we were young but that they are reminded of the killing cats since my nieces have taken up instruments. I love circuits!!

Beth -- do those shoes come with removable insoles? Because I spent wayyy too much money to not use this orthotics. :) I would actually love to find a sexy heel that I could put my orthotic in. I don't particularly like wearing sneakers every day and it prevents me from wearing cuter things. Speaking of which, I found an image of one of the dresses...(hope it links right)

Ok off the health center, bbl...

Hi ladies..

Ok, done with the legs Disc 3! Ugh! It was a tough one..But, I feel good being done...

Chris: Let's see, positive thoughts...Well, I do like the standing leg work at the end that Cathe says is bonus. The rest is tough...I have a hard time with the wall squats. I don't think I am at 90 degrees. But, I think I am close. I feel it anyway in my quads...Take it easy today and don't get worse! I love to read..Enjoy your book. I just got a Nora Roberts book from the library yesterday..Oh and sorry you had a bad night. My hubby would have never let me live it done about being late. I would have had a lecture for HOURS. Yes, hours!! He can argue!!

Beth: Glad you are able to find a workout for your upper body. Maybe it will be 100% soon..I tend to agree with you on the motorcycle stuff. I am so afraid of them. I see them all the time on the highways going so fast and it scares me so bad. Luckily, Vic feels the same way and would never get one..The jacket is a bright spot though! HAHA

Joanne: Those darn lost pounds need to stay lost! Mine keep coming home after I have gotten rid of them too. I do hope that I can loose them soon for good! My kids were invite to a game night with their homeschool group tonight. They are having a bonfire too. We will probably miss it since Chris has a baseball game tonight..

Hottie: Good luck with your leg workout tonight. You are right..Cathe is tough on those legs that is why I love her workouts so much. I love that challenge. I still feel I have a ways to go...Love it!!

Oh, and we are off to Lauren Book Club....Talk to you all later!!

Hottie, I hope your doctor can give you some answers. Or least run some tests to try to figure it out. I wonder if it could be some type of food allergy? Yes, killing cats is a good description of the way Jameson sounded when he first started playing! He's improved much, though. Mmmm, how do I say this...Colin's sounds more like um, bodily functions. Very loud ones. Which is actually quite funny to house full of young children. :) Not sure if it's supposed to sound like that, or not... Oh, I'm not all that patient with homework. Well, I guess I am somewhat, but I'm lucky in that my kids really do most of it on their own. But, when they do need help or don't get it, it can be a total meltdown. Colin mostly. He was having problems with math last year, but I think he "gets" his teacher more this year, so he's doing great so far. Wow, that dress is gorgeous! Any special occasions coming up to wear it?

Kathy, my DH can argue and lecture for hours, too. Fun, eh? ;) I know my problem with this weight is 90% food. It really is harder to get rid of it when you get older. I don't think my eating habits have changed that much over the last few years, but I used to be able to keep the weight off, but now it's creeping on. Hate it!! So, why did I buy chocolate covered peanuts last night???? Hopefully they will all be gone when I get home!

Chris, hope you are getting a good nap in and feeling better!

Beth, you must be busy playing with that jacket. Ha! ;)

Joanne

Joanne, ha! Busy, ha ha.....

Hottie, danskos are not sexy shoes! But no, I don't think it has anything removable. That dress, on the other hand, is very sexy! Nice! Thanks for pointing us to it.

Joanne, I forgot to mention that Dylan sometimes does that stuff with the homework -- acts like he doesn't know how to do it -- it's usually when he just doesn't want to hunker down and do it.

Why can't i find sexy shoes with removable insoles!!? This is an untapped market I tell you...

Oh arguing with hubby -- does it get easier with time? I mean, if I had to call winners, I have to say I "win" more often because I screw up less and I'm faster on my feet...though the very few times he's been right and I've been wrong...well, what's awesome is that Joe has such a terrible memory he can never throw it in my face! he once said, "I KNOW I was right and you were wrong about something but I can't remember what!!" Ha! not my problem bub.

joanne, that's cool about not having to move the instruments around. I definitely had to move my viola every day. My parents eventually bought one for me -- right under 1K at the time, I still have it. i don't play it that often but I pick up pretty quickly after breaking only about 2 windows. Isn't the dress cute! You see, I have no idea when I can wear those things. Also, this is my first Vera Wang dress (ok, I'll be honest, I don't buy most of my clothes...I think the last thing I *bought* for myself was from the Ann Taylor outlet three years ago!) so I hope I picked the right size. I don't mind it smaller because it'll motivate me but if its bigger I'll need it altered. I got a size 6 and 8 so we'll see. My sister is freaking size 0 at express. WRONG! I tell you WRONG!

Chris -- that's so cool that you read books so voraciously! I want to read this book about this guy who was the son of some big evangelical leader in the 80s and now has recanted the crazy stuff (but not god or religion) but I never can remember his name! Do you know what i'm talking about? Ugh...

Hmm...I wonder if walking around campus to think about experiments is a decent way to hid from my boss...

Hey Guys...

The crud hit me. I guess the crappy way I was feeling during IM2 was me coming down with something. I think it's a bad cold/sinus thing, but my body aches all over , like wicked DOMS, ALL OVER. Like my inner thighs and hips BAD! whatever. I went out this afternoon anyways. I went to a new Tea Shop a town over and bought some new tea leafs. The girl was super nice, and she made a few bags up for me to try and then come back if I like them (she did charge me which was fine!). .... I then went to the library and picked up my book. I read a little of it...it is VERY amusing so far!...

I slaved in the kitchen and made a big pot of beef vegetable soup. Just because I knew I'd feel better, but I felt shitty MAKING it..LOL!. Oh and Jakey came home with a HUGE headache and a fever from school. Oh we're a big boat of sickies!

Joanne: Are you doing any weight work w/ Insanity? Just wondering. I guess it's like anything else. No big secret to weight loss. Bastards, huh?... You'd think if you were working that hard and building the endurance, you could be fit fit fit like Shaun T!!! .... Sounds like you've BTDT with your DH too with work. When Greg used to go in later, for 11, that would happen here too. He'd set his alarm for a nap, and then over sleep. Sometimes I'd catch him, sometimes I wouldn't!!... Oooh La La on JUST the JACKET! there's a mental image I probably shouldn't have (but I'm picturing Jeff from Big Brother, I have no idea what Larry looks like! ;))..... Hope you guys are having fun at the bonfire!! sounds really fun!

Hottie: Hope your stomach got figured out today. maybe it is an allergy to milk/dairy/lactose? I still think IBS. Evee is SUCH a cutie pooch! I love looking at her on FB! hey, doggies have to sleep too!.... Yes, i was on Greg's side on the work thing last night too! I hated myself for doing that! I was bawling I was so upset I did something SOOOOo stupid!!! ... Greg and my fights never get won by anyone. We just call truces! or just let things slide after we bark at each other for a while. ... Hey that is a VERY pretty dress! Nice job!!

Kathy: I hope I have enough energy to crank out DISC 3 tomorrow. *sigh* Yes, I do remember really liking the bonus work!

Beth: I laid down BRIEFLY this afternoon. I'm going to go do more in a bit. I just can't keep still, i swear. But my body is so achey.... Mostly what motivates me to read is getting books from the library. If I BUY books, they just sit there. I have a NUMBER of books that have just been sitting there UNread or partially read. Something about LIBRARY books. Weird. .. I've never heard of Danskos. Where do they sell them? I really NEED a nice (comfy) pair of shoes. I wore sneakers to my class the other day and felt a little weird. (though 1/2 of everyone else did have jeans on too).

I hit a "button" and this all posted instead of eating it! I'm so lucky! dang!

I better go before I hit the OTHER button!

Hold the presses everyone! Chris, you are a nurse and you've never heard of danskos? It's the shoe worn by medical and restaurant personnel everywhere.... well, I guess maybe only northern california! Here's a link to the one everyone wears:

http://www.zappos.com/dansko-professional

I'm sure you've seen them, right? I have those, boots, sandals, and it seems like some other styles. Hottie, they don't answer your desire at all: not sexy, nothing removable.

Chris, I know exactly what you mean about library vs. bought books. I always jump right on the library books. So sorry the crud has hit you! I hope it's very short-lived!

Here's Larry:
http://images.forbes.com/media/moreon/m/mcvoy_larry.jpg

It's so friggin' hot here again! I'm so sick of this weather!!! We are supposed to hit triple digits again Monday!

Larry just walked in with new motorcycle pants..... the man is desperate. ;)

Hottie, don't know if you'll see this, but yes, I know who you're talking about with that book..... I heard the interview on fresh air. I will try to make it come back in my brain.......
