~*~*SEPT 09 CHECK-IN for WEDNESDAY, 9/16~*~*

Change of plans for me. I couldn't bring myself to get up at 5am to work out. I went to bed late (watched the Big Brother finale...,. Joanne, did you watch??? I won't spoil it in case you DVR'd it). Anyways, I thought about it and since I have this coming Saturday off, I can catch up with workouts on Saturday AND Sunday. So today will be my rest day (unless I somehow by a miracle get to do it when I get home), and then I'll start back tomorrow, as scheduled.

YAY!

I just don't have it in me to do a workout when I crawl out of bed. Don't know how you guys do it! .. I guess I'm just a creature of habit, needing my 2 cups of caffeine and breakfast before I do anything.

So today I spend in a classroom for 8 hours! SO not used to it, but at least my friends from work will all be there with me. We usually have a good time, so it shouldn't be boring....

Hope everyone has a great day with great workouts! Looking forward to hearing about them when I get home tonight....

Good morning Chris and everyone to come!

Chris: I can't roll out of bed and workout either...When I do, I feel like I have very little energy. So, I don't unless I really have to. I did workout before our trip. But, I got to be up a while before I had to jump into it...Yuck, 8 hours in a classroom. Try to have a good day..

Ok, Disc 2 for me today...Back and triceps. I still feel some DOMS. But, thankfully most of DOMS have settled down!

Time to get the kids started on their days...PE class for them today. I am going to try and get a mile run in while I wait. I do have a couple of errands to run. So, not sure if it will happen. But, I am going to try to squeeze it in!

Be back later..

Good morning! Well, I'll just tell you guys..... if I stopped for coffee or the computer before I worked out, I'm pretty sure I just wouldn't do it, so.... that's how I do it! You just can't think about it too much. :D

Chris, that's a long time to be back "in school". I hope it's interesting! I'm off for a mammogram this morning -- want to trade places? ;) Enjoy your rest day....

Kathy, hope you can run the "extra mile". :)

I forgot to answer about my shoulder last night..... first off, at this point it's more my upper back and neck that bother me. It's just that whole general area, but I definitely have the crunchies in my upper back. I tried to use the foam roller on it yesterday, but it just didn't get in there at all -- I guess it's hard to press that hard on that small of an area with the roller. Fortunately I can reach back there and work on the some. Anyway..... I think the rest is working.... two days ago it was painful enough that I had to take motrin during the day (had been taking it just at the end of the day). Yesterday I didn't need any motrin at all. Now, to not be falsely lured into pushing too hard too soon..... I think it may be a long time before I have the courage to attempt pushups!

I did KCM's body weight training today -- well, the first part that's all standing/legs. Nice workout. It reinforces my feeling that I don't need weights to work my legs. If I ever do Cathe's legs again, I think I just won't use weights.... think I'm nuts?!

I've got to get these kids rolling!

morning...wow yesterday was long and it sucked. I went to the gym to get on the elliptical to get very dizzy. I stayed on the elliptical doing light intensity for about 80m. Came back even dizzier to work. Snarfed a big togos salad wrap thinking it was because I didn't have enough food but I was too late. head throbbing world spinning...and I had to go look through a microscope for several hours. popped excedrin in my mouth, it helped a little but not enough. barely got my work done enough in time to pick up Joe, get hit with massive traffic before tutoring to then deal with just idiots on the road before coming home after 14 hrs still with a massive headache and the car ride made me nauseous. Went to bed early to wake up early but woke up some time around 3 to which I eventually asked Joe to give me something for this awful pain in my stomach...he gave me a concoction that worked (but not after spilling maalox all over the bedroom) but needless to say I woke up 30 minutes ago. Eating a hearty breakfast before starting my second disc of STS...

Chris -- hope you enjoy being back in the classroom! Will you be enjoying STS later this evening? Joe will be doing it after work...Oh and my wrist is better its just Monday night I used it too much...too much cooking, cleaning, lab work, etc...so it was aggravated.

Kathy -- i hoe you get that mile squeezed in. I just scolded Joe for trying to do hard cardio and then STS...how long do you wait in between?

Beth -- Joe has the EXACT same attitude about Cathe legs and weights. but I call him a scared cat.

:( stomach pain is back...

Good morning ladies! Good day today. Jameson is feeling better. He definitely had a bit of his old self back in him last night when I came home. He did go to school today. I hope he does OK. I would have rather he stayed home another day, but he was anxious to go back. He got a card yesterday signed by all his classmates. He really appreciated it. It's funny - he loves penguins and somehow started using "the grumpy penquin" as his username or something on youtube. Well, the girl who made the card put a picture of a penguin with a gun in his hand on the front of the card. I guess her mom didn't see it till afterward it was all signed and was a bit concerned about the gun! I saw her at open house last night and she was like "I'm so sorry about the penguin - I didn't know he was holding a gun" At this point I hadn't even seen the card yet and had no idea what she was talking about! Kind of funny - I didn't get what she was talking about until I got home and saw the card.

Hottie, oh my, all those symptoms don't sound good. Don't want to sound like a "mom", but maybe you should see your doctor? Wow, 80 minutes on the elliptical is forever!!

Beth, I just got "flattened" a few weeks ago - not fun!! It's over quickly, though. ;) Our place got a new machine and you don't have to hold your breath - I was happy about that - I'm easily pleased. ;) I liked that KCM workout, too. I did the second one today which is all floor. Pretty good. Lots of push up variations and some leg work. This one would be more of an add-on after cardio, I think.

Chris, oh yes, I watched! Very exciting!! I am so happy for Jordan. But, not happy that NataLIE got $50K. The only way I can workout is if I do it first thing. If I'm at home, I'll procrastinate and think of all kinds of other things to do. I'm like a zombie when I start, but am OK after a few minutes. Enjoy your class today. That's nice that you have Saturday off. You can enjoy a normal weekend!

Kathy, hope you get that mile in! I'm thinking of doing a short itread during lunch - we'll see.

BBL...

Joanne

Hottie, I agree with Joanne -- sounds like it's time to go to a dr.!

Joanne, I'm so glad to hear Jameson is feeling better! I think I would have wanted him home one more day, too, but I can understand that he's probably stir-crazy. Hope he sort of takes it easy. Funny about the card and the way you found out about it.

It'll be a while before I do that second have of the body training. I forgot to mention that this morning I tacked on abs and a long stretch, and then I realized I had time to try the itrain free iballet workout -- it's 12 minutes long, and I wanted to try it to see if I could do a barre workout with audio-only. I'm not sure I can. I did work my tush, but I'm not sure I was doing what she wanted me to do!

Off to chores.....

Beth, I thought about you when I was doing that second workout -that I should warn you it's really tough on the shoulders. I have a few of those iballets, but I just can't do them without video. They do have pdfs you can print out of the exercises, and I've done that, but it's just not the same. Some of the later ones have short demo videos. I need to try one out again (someday!).

I tried to talk myself out of using the treadmill, but I just got my butt up and went! I did a 20 minute itread and then 10 minutes walking up an incline. Glad I did it.

yea Joanne! Good for you for getting to the treadmill!

I think I'll pass on those iballets.... it's a great idea in theory, but I think I wouldn't pull them out much either.

Hey, anyone think I should get slow & heavy since it's on sale this week? Seems crazy, since I have STS (and can't even do that at the moment!), but.... I feel like I'll never see that good a deal on it again......

quick fly by for now -- if my tummy hurts by 3p today I'll drop by the health center (my insurance is still not active because of a paperwork mess up so I'm stuck with what's on campus). It comes and goes frankly...

AND...I can't describe to you how hard it is to be the cheapo woman I am when you have a fashionista sister showing you crazy ass sales...

Beth: I think it is a great deal on Slow & heavy...You may want it in the future..

Joanne: Happy to hear that Jameson is feeling better..

Hottie: I am trying not to over do it. I don't want to burn out. That is why I am limiting it to 1 mile..Mainly I am doing that to help the kids so that they will be conditioned enough to handle it in their PE class..I think you can go every other day with cardio. I am adding the mile in there on Monday and Wednesday when I can. If I start to feel burn out, I will quit adding it in..I feel it is important to listen to my body's aches...I think it is great you have Joe to do STS with. My hubby does he own thing; which I am glad he does something...But, I know how great Cathe is and keep encouraging him to try her DVDs. At least the weight stuff. I know he won't do her cardio..

Chris: I hope the class went well!

Ok, I got Disc 2 done today...I also got to run a mile and walk half a mile while the kids were in PE class..Great workout day..Tomorrow is KPC!!
