So Ladies Good morning to all!

Not sure what I'll be doing today besides CleaningMax & LaundryMax but I will do something .

My CCs are calling out to me so........ I may do one of those.

So does anyone who has done that Leg Blast rotation have answers for me? My last post yesterday had some questions. ;)

I'm ready to start up next week as this week I'm winging it.

Last night's school production was very good. There was piano playing , guitars and drums WOW . Singing, dancing and all around great talent goodness. Granted we got back home at 10pm and way past my dd bedtime so I'm dealing with a grumpy kid this morning.

Have a great Day everyone!

Good Morning!!

It's a gorgeous morning here again! Got to enjoy the next 2 days, because then they are predicting a few days of rain... Been so spoiled with these gorgeous cool and sunny Fall days here.

My workout today is: Butts & Guts. Of course modified, no lunges or big jumps. I feel like I don't get the BEST from it, but it's something> And like I blogged, I've really felt DOMS from this rotation in my lower end just about every day. Gotta be good for something!

Hey Vilma!!: I did read your post from yesterday. I didn't have time (or energy) to answer last night... LOL!! So from the responses I'd say my answer to your Poll is: NONE OF THE ABOVE.

Working on the last week of FF's Lower Body Blast Rotation and this is what I think. Considerations: 1. I had to skip a few of the workouts during the initial 4-5 days that I broke my toe. 2. I've had to modify the lower body weight work to exclude lunges of any type due to toe injury. 3. My eating wasn't so clean as I'd like it to be. Had a bad few days w/toe injury issues. and 4. I modified the cardio workouts by doing biking and/or Turbo Jams. Which I think might actually ADD to the effects, because the TJ's are 95% kickboxing moves.

The Results: I've maintained my weight (which is an accomplishment, since I ate like crap). My jeans and pants are a BIT looser. I actually had a big pair of size 4's in my closet that I've been wearing comfortably (Been wearing 8's). So I do think the rotation is worth a go, and I'd definitely do it again!

As for the Turbo Jams , *I* like them alot! Some people might think some of the people in it are a bit cheesy (I do too). But Chalene Johnson is great energy and I truly enjoy her personality and enthusiasm with the TJ workouts. The #1 thing for me is the music! Some of it is truly like club dancing, because of the music. There is a LOT of Core moves incorporated into the cardio parts. Whenever I do the TJ's consistantly , I do get a tighter Core region as well. The cardios consist of warm up, and then some moderate cardio moves (kicking, punching combos), spiced up with some higher intensity moves. And then they do a "Turbo Blast", which is an interval. there's one interval per cardio. The ending it great too. You do a cool down doing slow kicking & punching, and then a wonderful, relaxing Tai Chi. The original TURBO JAM comes with the Cardio Party, Ab Jam (20 minutes of combo upright core work and floorwork), 20 Minute Cardio Party (I use for add ons or 2nd workouts). And then there's the weight work, which I rarely do. It's total body and seems more like functional weight work, lighter stuff, not as challenging as Cathe, of course.

There are other DVD's. I have them all. My favorites are: 1. Punch Kick & Jam, 2. Cardio Party 3. 3. Kickin Core (lots of great core work..even MORE). the others are "ok" too. Except for Total Body with the ball. Didn't liek that one at all.

So there's my review in a big nutshell!

You could go to Beach Body and see clips of the workouts , I bet. to get a gist of the music..

now I need to get my buttocks downstairs to start B&G!!!

BBL...

Good Morning Vilma and all who follow :D

Today I'm starting FF's Endurance/Muscle Def. Rotation...w/ MM Upper Body, but I think I may throw in some cardio today too... I had to tweak some of the last week because I'm in a wedding on the 18th...and my week off will have to start earlier ....( it just makes sense)...lol

Hi ladies..

Stopping by to say good morning. Today will be Muscle Endurance..

Vilma: I hope you get the answer to your question..I say give it a try!

Chris: Butts & Gutts is a good one to do. There isn't too much in it to hurt your foot. Except ALL those walking lunges. Can you do any lunges? Modified to not lunge as deep? Great write up on that rotation..I have the same problem with my rotations. If I could just eat clean all month!!!

Iris: I have to twick rotations all the time. Enjoy it!!

Good morning everyone! Lots of activity here late yesterday. Joanne! Whooo-hooo! You must be sooooooo happy to have Caitlyn home -- congrats, and enjoy the time you have while she's home from school and you are home schooling.

Vilma, I think FF leg blast has worked well for me -- I have pants that I can get into now which were just way too tight before. I did have one week of really clean eating, and I'm sure that helped too, but I do think my body has responded to more leg work, and I'm going to keep it up -- not the same rotation, but making sure I do something with my lower body nearly every day. You also asked about yoga -- depends on what you like. the ones I pull out consistently are the ones I mentioned -- flexible warrior (I can tell you which one I have) for a great 20 minute stretch after a run, and then the longer ones I use on a "rest" day are Barkan, Paul Grilley's yin yoga, and sometimes Rodney's hot yoga, I think it's called. But I have tried many many more. I have to make sure I stretch well every day or I really feel my body complaining. 47 is coming up. Ug. (my husband can't believe he's hot for a 47 year old (-:).

I did Step Blast this morning -- haven't done it in quite a while and it took me a few tries to get that third combo. That was my first Cathe video, so it brings back memories of serious huffing and puffing and thinking that woman is just plain crazy. :) Now it seems almost easy.....

have a great day everyone!

-Beth

Good morning all!

Well my husband managed to take away the extremely happy mood that I had because Ms. Boylan (Cedie) wrote back to me (you can look at yesterday's thread cuz I posted the letter) by proving to me that he's a child because if I'm not there to tell him when to go to bed, that apparently means that he won't go to bed until I wake up well after midnight to tell him to go to bed which means we get late into work which means that everything gets shifted. Ah, boyzzzz...but I'm still happy about Ms. Boylan writing back.

Vilma -- I couldn't tell you anything about the rotations. Have fun with whatever workout you do.

Chris -- have fun with Butts and Guts...it sounds like the toe must be getting better. And at least you don't have to drive the paperwork in today!

Iris -- have fun with your workout. I'm sure the wedding is tweaking your motivation too, right? :)

Kathy -- enjoy ME!

Beth -- I haven't done Step Blast in a while. Maybe on the weekend. I still huff and puff though on the workout near the end.

Well, whole day's schedule got sorta screwed up. I have no desire to be hunched over my bench though right now so I'm futzing and seriously considering dropping by the SC gym for an hour. My goal was to have reserves to do LowMax when I got home but I just wanna have some blood flow, you know? We'll see. My labmates are actually being chatty with me today so I'm trying to take that in a little too (I'm the only American and sometimes it feels like the Chinese speak Chinese with the other Chinese all day and the same thing with the Italians, so I just tune them out.)

BBL!!

Hi Guys!!

I made it through B&G!!! It was tough, my buttocks were on FIRE through most of it. My lower body was still sore from something, and all the moves were so much tougher for me today. I ended up doing ALL the moves, except for the one legged lunges , where your back foot is up on the Step. If I wobbled the wrong way,, my foot would catch and that would be the end of me. So I left that one out. Otherwise I did them ALL! me!!

That is still a wicked workout, isn't it? Evil, but so effective! My DH was in the room paying bills, his favorite move was the "little crab"... He thought that was a riot!

Iris: Sounds like a great rotation! I love FF's. This is the second one of hers that I've done. She kicks BUTT!

Kathy: ME is a good one! Hope you liked it... I bet your muscles were shaking!

Beth:
I'd also like to keep up with working my Lower Body more. Maybe we could find a good rotation for that next month if Cathe's doesn't come out with a good one...

Hottie
: Oh men, I tell ya! They just don't THINK half the time, I swear. I saw your Cedie Letter from yesterday!! VERY cool! I'd be excited too!! She sounds very nice, as I've always suspected and everyone always says that have met her on Road Trips. whatever you end up doing, enjoy it! Don't do it because you feel like you HAVE to!

The boys should be trotting in shortly from school. I can't believe it's that time of day again....

Now I just have to WAKE UP!!!

Chris - Thanks for answering my questions about the Leg Blast rotation FF made for September & TJ.

I’ll schedule that rotation for myself next then. As far as TJ can you buy the workouts separately? That Punch, Kick & Jam sounds interesting by just the name itself.

Iris
– Is the wedding someplace you need to travel to or local? Have fun

Kathy – With Chris’s reply I’m going to give it a whirl. Oh ME is such a nice TB workout enjoy it!

Beth – Okay I will do that rotation then sounds like it worked well for you. I have an old Am/PM Yoga on VHS somewhere in my cabinet that I haven’t done since my baby was a baby lol.

I need to break it and rediscover since its been so long. Not sure why I forgot all about doing yoga, I honestly must say with my body getting older and keeping up with my runs that I do tend to feel my aches now. So anything that will help stretch, soothe & restore is always a good thing to do for myself.

Hottie – Smack that boy of yours upside his head! Your not his mother but his lover & wife LMAO Men!

So today I did Body Fusion again… Although I’m craving a run I’m afraid knowing myself I’ll go all out when I’m trying to give myself this week to rest up before I start my next rotation.

Today is a soup day for us........ YUM!

See y’all later

Hey Chris, and anyone who wants to create our own rotation..... FF's generic breakdown of the leg blast rotation was:

Day 1: Total Body
Day 2: Cardio
Day 3: Leg workout
Day 4: Cardio
Day 5: Upper body and leg floor work
Day 6: Cardio
Day 7: Rest

I'm thinking about doing something like this:

Day 1: Total Body
Day 2: some IMAX or lowmax
Day 3: circuit
Day 4: kickbox
Day 5: total body
Day 6: pilates/squeeze/bar
Day 7: rest/yoga

Do you think I'm nuts? That would definitely get the legs every day, but it might be too much. Also, the cardio is bunched together, so I may switch out day 4 and day 6.

Hopefully someone will see this post, even though it's getting late for some folks....

-Beth

Beth:I love the idea of those circuits! I haven't done a circuit workout in forever, I miss them. Though I don't know if I can do STEP (with my lame toe!) , and I don't have many NON step circuit workouts. Ugh. .... Decisions decisions, but now is the time to make them! this is the last week of the rotation!

Vilma: I don't think you can buy the TJ's separate, unless you do eBay or get it from Amazon from a private seller. BB sells it in a package of 3 , I believe. The other thing about TJ's are, the cardio IS pretty short. They run 45-50 minutes total. But they are a good break from longer Cathe ones too. Plus I'm really liking the kickboxing with this rotation. ...My legs are feeling it this week!!

Off to Must See TV and Bed... See you's tomorrow....

Beth, I think the rotation looks good. But what do I know? Actually, this week I was going back to circuits because I missed them so much. So, tomorrow its either C&W or LowMax since I was too tired when I came home to tackle it on. (I hope I muster up the courage to do LowMax though.)

Awww..this is cute...I can hear DH doing bootcamp from the bedroom. he's not yelling at Cathe that much...
