Seasun Zigler's Rock Steady Step

So I was finally able to preview this workout (I rented from Netflix but the DVD was cracked so I had to wait for it to re-ship) and I will tell you, I was really disappointed. I thought the choreography was unnecessarily complex and I just didn't like her teaching style. The background exercisers didn't know the routine and kept messing up, which was really distracting. Also, not to sound rude or anything, but Seasun does not look like a fit person to me. She looks like she is borderline anorexic. I have never seen a step instructor with pencil-thin thighs and no muscle tone whatsoever. I found that very, very off-putting.

Anyone else have thougths on this?

Anyway, I didn't even do the workout, just sent it back.

This is not one of my favorites. I like complex coreography, but some of her steps seem downright dangerous. My DH would agree with your description of Seasun as borderline anorexic, but her appearance didn't bother me too much. I do agree that her background exercisers aren't up to the caliber of Cathe's. I rarely reach for this DVD and given the choice, I probably wouldn't have bought it.

Marie, I heard the same thing about Seasun being really thin on this one when I asked awhile back about her workouts. Lots of people mentioned the fact that she was way to skinny.

I still have yet to do a workout of hers, but at this point I think I am really only interested in her newest one. Apparently, the choreography is challenging, but not kill yourself challenging. Of course Netflix doesn't have this yet, so I will have to wait x( . Good luck with your next fitness rental from Netflix. I hope that you like it better :) .

Yes, Seasun is thin, particularly when she wears black outfits like she did in RSS and in her new Bosu workout. I'm one who has commented on her slender physique before, if not here then on other forums. I think she's a natural born ectomorph, and as a mesomorph who worries more about building too much bulk, she certainly has a different body type than my own. However, if she wasn't fit she wouldn't be able to do her own workouts.

I normally do not focus my attention on the background exercisers so unless they fall over I would not notice. I'd have to look at RSS again to see if I notice what the backgrounders are doing. As I recall (it's been awhile since I've done this one), I was focused almost entirely on Seasun herself to learn the choreography.

I like Seasun's workouts, I like her teaching style, and while I think her workouts are pretty complex choreography-wise, I also think they are "doable."

Like any other instructor out there (even including my favorite Cathe--gasp!--), she's not for everyone but I like her.

RSS was my least favorite of all of hers. I love her new one, Straight Up Step and The Next Step was good also. And, if you have a BOSU, I highly recommend her new BOSU workout!

I thought I read that she was fighting a flu when she filmed RSS. She looks absolutely fabulous in Straight up Step - she had a baby 2 months prior. The softer look suits her well.

I have heard others say that they prefer her later workouts. I may give them a try. As I said before, the only problem I had with RSS was some of the steps, especially some of the turns, seemed dangerous.
