scar tissue

has anyone had that? does it go away? i have it in my shoulder. the only upper body exercise i cannot do is cross body kickbacks.i wonder if its because of the scar tissue so then i will never be able to do that exercise.everything else has greatly improved. i also read that taking vitamin e helps though i already take multis.

I have a lot of scar tissue from several surgeries. While the scars never go away once I started working with a good massage therapist they totally changed. They are no longer hard and ropy with a lot of adhesions. The scars we worked on most are doing really really well. So if you can find a good massage therapist that is willing to work with scars I say go for it!

Getting enough dietary fat in general helps. I understand that some massage can help deep tissue, but I gotta tell ya it hurts. I have a lot of internal scarring from a car accident when I was 11 and then later that year a terrible chemical burn that covered most of my body. (I look semi normal except in the shoulders area.) Is it on the surface or internal? I wonder if vit. K would help on the surface? How about a laser treatment?

I had never really thought to ask about this on this forum so I'm glad you asked Laura! I had back surgery in July and am not sure even how to describe how the muscles feel even now 5 months later. This is my first major surgery so I don't know what I should be expecting but it has been tough getting back into the workout routine I was used to pre-surgery. The muscles just feel tight all of the time and my flexibility is really limited. By the time the evening rolls around it just hurts. Is all of this due to scar tissue from the surgery do you think? I hadn't thought about seeing a massage therapist...will that help?

Thanks!

Natalie
