Just came back from my u/s!!
Hi Wendy!! Thanks so much for thinking about me! You're right, today was my Level II u/s. The blood is gone!!! Everything looks completely normal in there! The placenta looks good, the baby is measuring exactly 18 1/2 weeks, the heartbeat is healthy and the baby is......................................(scroll down)
a girl!!!
The technician of course cautioned us that at this early date that may not be accurate, but we're going with it! I am so excited. I am relieved beyond belief to find out that the blood is gone, and so happy that my first daughter is going to have a sister! We even came to a decision on the name in the car on the way home: Kathryn (Kate) Evelyn. Kathryn is DH's beloved grandmother's name (they share a birthday even), as well as the name of a great aunt in his family who was a very interesting and vibrant woman. Evelyn is the name of both of my grandmothers.
I won't hear from my doctor for a couple of days wrt my activity level, but I certainly will take myself off bedrest. I will wait until I hear from her regarding exercise. I'm not sure whether this means that the pregnancy is now considered "normal", or whether there is a higher chance that this might reoccur, and I need to be cautious. But let me tell you, I'm eyeing up my Cathe's, and thinking Basic Step and Body Fusion might be where I'll start. It's been 9 weeks and quite a few pounds since I last worked out, so I'm sure it's going to feel rough for the first little bit. Yay!!!! I'm in the mood to celebrate!!
Cheers!
Sandra
