Just wanted to check in to see how you're all doing after the chaos of last week. Lorrayne, Laura, and Nicole -- how are you all doing??

I actually just received an email from two of my students (a mother and daughter who are both in the same class), letting me know that they lost their house in Ramona. The dad and son are both firefighters, but they were off fighting fires in other parts of the county, and so they weren't home to help the family evacuate. The family ended up being able to take a few pictures, but not much else.

Some counselors and other faculty members at my school have also lost their homes, although the specific names haven't come out yet.

It's going to be such a tough process re-building!

The news this morning said that there were six major wildfires still burning - is this right? Must be a mess down there! Everyone is in my thoughts and prayers.

Thanks for the support, everyone! There were six fires burning last week, but they are all under control or put out by now. Last week was really scary, though!!
