Runners, do you ever have those days where...

You are just feeling AWESOME! I have been doing pretty well with my runs, but today was INCREDIBLE! I don't know if it is the weather or what, but I felt like I was FloJo... alright, not really - but in my mind I coulda' been! I could only do 40 minutes because of time constraints, but I managed 4.7 miles (for me that is gazelle-fast) and felt like I could do double that. I love days like today! This is the first time I have felt like I was on such an intense energy high since before Christmas. WOOHOO!

Anyone else feelin' it? :p :7

p.s. I noticed that I kept comparing myself to graceful beings which I am so totally not - I MUST be feeling pretty high!

Missy

Yep, I love those days!! Run for me too, ok?? (I have a broken toe!) So.. I went for a bike ride today in the gorgeous weather and it was awesome too! (although I really wanted to be running!)

Love that *runners high*!

Congrats Missy.

I hope to get to that feeling one day. I've only been running for 3 weeks now.

You will experience it! I think I got my first one a couple of months after I started. I think it was when I finally was able to make it to 2 miles w/o having to stop and walk. :D

Missy...yep, I just had one of those days yesterday as I have been suffering from a few injuries. My run yesterday was just so darn fun!!! Love the endorphins!!!...

Oh Missy! That's why we continue to run, even through the runs where you feel like you're dragging along a 50 pound brick or running through cement, or that just hurt and you cannot figure out why. Because when a run is ON, there is nothing like it in the world! Glad you had a great run!

Um.... I dropped my laptop on it!!! I know, dumb dumb dumb!!! It slipped right out of my hand and of course the corner landed right on the outside of my foot, right under my pinky toe. After hopping around the room for a few minutes I knew it was going to be bad. It's been 2 1/2 weeks and my foot is STILL bruised!!! It's actually feeling much better today, I'm hoping to be back & running soon..... especially with this gorgeous weather!

Thanks for asking!

YES! I ran a 5k yesterday and really thought it was going to suck. I had a bit of a headache, had eaten Waffle House for breakfast (only two eggs and dry toast but you still leave feeling like oil is oozing out of your pores!) and didn't feel into it.

Well, it was my best race ever - finished in 23:56 and 2nd in my age group out of 15 and the 6 th female finisher out of 96 women! Don't get me wrong, that last mile was a killer, but the way I felt when I crossed that finish line was amazing.

When's the next 5K? Yup, I'm hooked.

Great runs are awesome - glad you had one!

OK, I couldn't take it anymore.... I *had* to run this morning. I ran 4 miles!!!! It actually hurt worse to power walk than it did to run. Once I got going, it felt wonderful to be running again!!! So thanks for enabling me. }(

That's great - such a nice feeling !

Y'all got me a bit bummed at this point in time. Was doing well with my runs (or should I say jogs) after attempting a running program for a couple of months.

Then I was so tired every day that I took an entire week off working out since I had been lifting and running since the beginning of the year without a break.

Yesterday I did my first 4 mile run and had lead in my legs, UGH !

I hope tomorrow is better - and I'm scheduled for an 8 miler on Saturday, but we'll see how far I get.

I am playing with adding a little more carbs to my diet and more protein on lifting days since I am just beginning NROLW. Got my fingers crossed that I can get it all figured out and get that Runners High back again soon !

It does take a little time to get the running endurance back, but not too long.... I plan on running again on Friday! ;-) Toe was a little swollen y'day but nothing I can't deal with. The run was well worth it to me! Good luck figuring out that *perfect* carb ratio with running!

Thanks, Judy! It was my own stupidity!! At least I saved the laptop, right?? ;-) How are you doing?? Keeping busy as always?
