Rotations

Cathlete
Good Morning everyone!

I was wondering if anyone knew what are the benefits of sticking to a cathe rotation as oppose to doing the workout you feel like doing that particular day? Do you see more results following a rotation than you would if you did whatever cathe dvd you were in the mood for...

The best workout, hands down, is the one you will actually do. Having a planned rotation allows you to ensure that you have the right mix of different types of exercise for you, but the rotation itself is not the point of the thing. Consider your rotation a guide, but on a daily basis, if you are considering blowing off a session because you don't really want to do the scheduled workout, just do what you want to do that day, and adjust the rotation to keep the right mix of workouts if necessary.

Thank you morningstar for your response. I'm trying to have a new outlook about my fitness regimen. I just want to do what feels good and not be so rigid about everything like what I'm suppose to eat after a work out and calories and this and that you know? Anyway thanks again and have a great day.

I have been following Cathe's rotation's for about a yr now. For me I have noticed a difference plus it takes the guesswork put of it for me! ;)
At times I have switched it around a bit to better suit me & one month I had to go iton my own due to an upper body injury.

I find them very helpful - she obviously knows her stuff! :D

For me following a rotation whether it's Cathe's or my own makes a huge difference. I think it has a lot to do with personality. I know that when I'm doing a rotation, I really want to stay on track and keep with the plan, so unless I'm thrown off by something else in my life like a sick kid, or event, I do what I'd planned on doing. Years ago, when I used to just wing it, I found myself doing favorites and easier things too much to have any gains in endurance/strength. I would simply maintain and that wasn't what I really wanted. I've been using rotations for more than 10 years now so it's just what I do and I'll freely admit to being a rotation junkie. :D
