Robin,

I am thinking of getting the Sony 400 Disk Cd/Dvd changer (DVP-CX995). I believe it is similar to the one you have, how do you program across different DVDs? I downloaded the manual and have not really come across any thing stating programming across DVDs but maybe I am not looking at the right thing.

I have the DVP-CX985V and yes I can program across different DVDs. I must admit I love not handling the DVDs at all and I keep a TV guide type list of where DVD is located in the player. You can also label each DVD in the folders (which I also do by using my keyboard to type in titles), but I'm lazy and found it easier to do by number. Some people don't like the 400 players, but I love mine and wouldn't change back to a 5 disc player ever. Check the programing guide online and if it has a place for "Disc" (003: DVD) then "Title" and "Chapter"....you can program across different DVDs.

Thank you, Robin. I did an online chat with Sony's customer care and one said it did and another said no. I really don't want to spend that much if I am not sure. You really helped Robin, Thanks Again.

If you look on pgs 39-40 of your manual it tells you that you can program across multiple DVDs or CDs (see where it asks you for the Disc number...that tells you right away)
