Some of the road trip tips posted earlier, now compiled together.
--- If you sweat, like most of us do, you will have some
S-T-I-N-K-Y clothes at the end of each w/o - and we have 4! Take your number of w/o outfits - headband, shirt, bra, undies, pants, socks, whatever, and pack each complete set in a gallon plastic ziplock bag. That way you just pull out a new bag for each new workout, and you keep your used stinky ones together until you return home to wash (may need extra heavy duty detergent for these babies! ) . Once you wear them and pack them back in their respective bag, hang them out in the hotel room (over the towel bar, the shower curtain bar, the desk chair, etc. This allows them to dry out before you pack them away to take back home.
--- For the showers at the gym you can bring a refill package of those disposable facial wipes. They worked as well as full body soap. No need for separate soap/gel, cloth/puff, etc. Or pack yourself a shower kit in a small ziplock bag. Throw a small travel size or mail sampler shower gel, shampoo, conditioner and bath puff in and you'll be ready to line up for the showers in a hurry; just grab and go!
--- How to make the experience last. Chose a new body wash with a new fragrance - but Don’t NOT USE IT until the RT. That way when you use the fragrance after the RT, your will be brought back to the RT experience linked to the fragrance.
--- Bring towels. You might want to pack two or three small hand towels from your home to bring to the gym. Cathe's gym has towels that you can rent, if you like, or you can bring them from the hotel BUT you would need to be careful to take them back. We all set our towels and water bottles around the perimeter of the room close to our step or area. For the step classes you can also put sweat rag, locker key, water bottle, etc. inside one or the risers. But most of us lined our stuff around the gym's perimeter.
--- Lockers, the gym has lockers that use quarters. Be respectful of the gym patrons and share a locker if possible so we don’t become locker hogs while we are there.
--- DVDs to sign. Bring just the sleeve cover to have autographed. That way you can leave your DVD's at home.
We'll add to this list as we think of more tips. C U ALL SOON!
