+ Rise & Shine MELTERS It's the Weekend! ++

Hello Again.

Stopping by to say, I didn't buy anything nnline today. Grocery shopping is getting quite expensive not to mention pothole/cratersville along the way.

Wow!! 85 degrees. I forogt what that was like. It sounds good, but that would cause some more unstable weather patterns here.

Is "In the Ring" worth it? Considering buying it. But, after ACS2, not sure if I want to venture more with Amy or not.
Is it harder than KPC? KM?

BBL

I'm home now. Whew, what a day. Saturdays just seem to keep getting busier and busier. I'm all done with Rhythmic Step and am glad to report it was better than yesterday's workout. I did PLB yesterday and was in tears at how poorly it went. I guess it's just going to take more time then I thought to regain the strength in my legs. At least I don't seem to have lost too much cardio endurance.

I have to make it quick. I need a shower, then we are taking friends out for dinner.

Deb, we had a rainy night too, but I didn't have to get up and let anyone out! Today is much nicer than I expected. DH has been outside ridding the world of house sparrows and making it a safer place for bluebirds. Good luck at Talbots.

Jennifer, Saturdays were made for sleeping in, if your pets allow it! Yes, I finished with my meds yesterday. The fog is lifting.

Shelley, how is Sophie. Funny how she goes from sick to manic. Did the cell phone you got her have anything to do with her dad's live in girlfriend? I wish you lived close enough that I could do a Strep throat culture on her for you.

tneah, I'm so impressed with the way you've reached your goals and the nice things Mr Trainerman said. Poor Mitch, having to do the dirty work with Capt Vodka. I'm LOL at all the on line shopping you guys are doing. I get frustrated. It seems to take so long to find anything I like when I shop on line. Of course, I'm not much for shopping at the mall either.

Leanne, yes, I do feel a bit better. I still have some of the cold symptoms though and it's been two weeks. Oh well, they are lessening every day. I go back to the doctor the end of the month as a follow up for the shingles and my yearly physical. Guess I'll have to try climbing back up on the melting wagon. I hate weighing in at the doctors office.

Lainie, poor thing. Your ankle doesn't sound good. You need to try to stay off it, young lady!

OK, I gotta run. Mmmmm, I'm going to have a nice juicy Zinfadel with my ribs, now that I'm med free.

Robin -- Sorry to hear that PLB didn't go as planned yesterday! Just take it easy and don't try to overdo it. Keep reminding yourself that a major surgery takes time to recover from! Glad you're feeling better -- and have fun at dinner tonight!

Tneah -- Forgot to mention earlier how cute those jackets you posted are! I bet you look fantastic in that Ralph Lauren one -- it's so very Audrey Hepburn-ish -- very classic and elegant! Keep us posted on how things progress with the new Aussie Captain (AKA Cpt. George Clooney)!

Jennifer -- I know -- groceries (and gas!) are just so expensive! Good for you not caving in with on-line shopping. That being said, I really like In the Ring and find Amy's kickboxing workouts (like Kickbox Extreme) to be a bit harder than Cathe's. The cardio is more constant and longer.

Alright, I'm getting off-line for a bit to go bead! My goal is to get than dang necklace finished up this weekend!

Hey guys, I went to the store and bought my "cheat foods".:p I am so excited, they did not have steaks that looked good, so am making homemade nachos with 2 percent cheese, lowfat sour cream, salsa, guacamole and baked chips. Oh baby, one of my favorite things for sure. Then comes the Edy's slow churned ice cream with sprinkles.:p I feel like a little kid who gets told they can choose whatever candy they want at the store! heehee. Sundays are for resting and cheating, and I'm gonna take it!

Okay, need to call DH...

Tneah-After eating my one slice of Digornio, I like what you're having better. Plus, the ice cream. Cookies n cream is my fave.

Robin-Glad the fog is lifting.

Shelley-How is Sophie feeling? And, you?

Leanne-Did you finish your project?

Lainie-How is your ankle? Better?

Well, Roadshow is on right now. They will be in Grand Rapids this summer.

I bought Yoplait Chocoate Yogurt, it is good? It made me curious.

Sunday morning, I will have a scrambled egg skillet with sundance spuds, sausage, red peppers, cheese, etc...I can't wait. I went to church toniht so I could meet my friend tomorrow.

Good morning, everyone!

Got up early and just had breakfast. Today I'll be doing GS Chest/Tris and then adding on some Core Max. I'm hoping to get that necklace finished today, so I'll post photos of it when I'm done!

Deb -- Did you find a jacket yesterday?? Hope you did!

Jennifer -- Enjoy your breakfast today! It sounds delicious!

Tneah -- Yumm . . . those nachos sound like they'll be delicious!

Hi to all else! I'll BBL!

Good Morning Melty friends!

Today I did S&H legs, the abs from Tri/Bi. This is a great workout! I forgot how slow she goes, but I like it like that. I also like that she puts some time between sets. Makes the Pyramid series look like it is at 78 RPM ( I'm dating myself here! LOL )..I think I will alternate this one with the 4DS Kickbox legs, another favorite.

I went to Talbot's yesterday and found a nice khaki type jacket, not too light, not too heavy and a pink cardigan. The jacket was marked down 61%. A good deal. Still have some $ left on the gift certificate. I tried to spend it all but could not find anything else I liked.

There were actually a few flurries a little while ago...when will it ever end?

Jennifer:
Very cold here today too..last I checked it was 34 degrees..Nice job on the HCE! That TV show sounds kind of funny..watching someone excercise while the pasta is boiling! LOL

Shelly:
How is Sophie doing today? I will be going to the NF Outlet Mall in a little while.. I am sure I will run into many of your country men there!

Tneah:
Thanks for all the links...I did get something that looks a little "safari like" and it is stretch too! How did Captain Vodka take "getting the boot"? I can almost understand why your DH would be a little "funny" about taking full body shots of his wife to send to another man! I know we have no issue with it, but sometimes men are weird in that way.LOL I think about it in the reverse and I think I may have a little attitude about it too! I certainly would try not to show it though..I think your DH has been pretty good up to this point! Don't you hate when you are trying to do something good for yourself and others ( in my case some family members) try to sabatage you? I don;t drink and my SIL is contantly asking me if I want a drink..she won't take no for and answer. I get really pi**ed off sometimes. I think sending the flowers was very nice!

Leanne:
Love the dress! I can see why your DH likes it ! Go Mama! Thanks for the tip on the glosses from Aromaleigh...I got makeup from them before..I think it was mineral ( which I hate by the way!), but not sure if I tried the glosses..I'll check it out! I would love to be able to be professionally tested for bodyfat % too, but have no idea where you can get that done around here. Glad to hear you are feeling better after stopping the Flonase. :7 Show us a picture of that purse! I just had 6 pair of pants taken in by the tailor.. or else I would have no summer clothes! B-Day is at the end of the month, but I just like to forget about it!

Lainie:
Love the sweater...the pink one is almost like the one I got, only mine has 3/4 sleeves..and thanks for all the other suggestions. I agree it will be warm in Memphis, but you never know, especially when we do the Midnight Hub tour! Good for you for taking a rest.

Robin:
Nice job working and coming home to do RS! PLB is probably not a good one to use after surgery..she goes too fast. I would especially think that any of the "low end" stuff would be bad for your knees.. where was the dinner? was it good?:9

Have a great day..and rest of the weekend!

Deb

Morning melters. It's another day at work for me. So far, it's a much nicer, quieter day. I will workout when I get home, but don't know what yet. I'm thinking of starting a 4DS rotation, with an extra leg day and cardio day to bring it up to 6 days. Of course, I have such a hard time sticking to any kind of rotation, I'm probably fooling myself. We'll see how I feel when I get home.

Deb, I was suprised how "warm" it was here this morning. The prediction was for 30's, rain and flurries. It was in the 40's and just cloudy. Yesterday was a beautiful afternoon. We saw everyone out driving their good-weather-only cars. DH was chomping at the bit to get one of his sports cars out of the garage, but they are wedged in until the threat of frost is gone, so I have garage space. We ate at a rib place about 45 minutes away. The food was OK, but we were with good friends and the wine was good, so we enjoyed ourselves.

I'll try to ge back later, after my workout, to see how Sunday is treating the rest of you.

Hello Melters.

Just got done vaccuming (making my cats run away) and the 4DS total body premix so now I must get ready to eat some good food. I love 4DS but I only do the premixes from it so it's only a 3 day rotation for me.

Early morning, there was snow on my car. Now, it's sunny. Later this week, it's supposed to be in the 60s and sunny. Yesterday, here it rained all day.

During my laundry, I might preview HCE #3. Or, nap.

Gotta go and BBL.

Hey All! Happy Sunday!:)

The firing of our old captain went pretty well, according to DH, he called this morning. So that is good. I have had a very stressful weekend with his daughter, who is by the way only 10 years younger than me, and thinks she is still 21...very immature and a total partying fool. She came back from a night of partying and promptly passed out mid sentence, hitting her head on the countertop. I called 911 to make sure she was okay--she was thank god. She had drank over a bottle of vodka over the course of the evening...then proceeded to go out again last night. She is one of those daughters who feels "entitled" to daddy's money, and gets it for the most part. Its a long sordid story, one that i will not bore you with, but we get along very well, but she knows what sucker I am and I wind up paying for everything..but she really showed her arse this last time, smelled like a vodka factory to boot. ;( Mitch is really pissed about this little "visit" from DD, and I get put in the middle of everything of course. Anyway! She leaves today to go back to SLC. I need some time away from people, let me tell ya.

Robin, you should stick with 4DS, its so much fun...one hour of intense exercise and you are done for the day. I think this series is my fave-with the exception of the HIS of course, which I never fully mastered.:) How was dinner?

Leanne, GS tri/chest is tough, I hate pushups and really can only do 35 on my toes! It looks like I could do more doesn't it? It actually hurts my lower back though, I hate pushups, so you have fun with those.;)

Deb, your jacket sounds so cool and current, right on trend there lady!:) And you are right, I never thought of it that way, DH probably does feel weird about sending bikini pics of his wife to another man. I wouldn't like it at all, if it was reversed.:)

Jennifer, I vote for the nap. Think I might indulge (if I can today, but probably not since DH's daughter doesn't leave until after 6 tonite)

I am on day 4 of my thyroid meds, tomorrow I up it to two pills, you have to gradually increase your dosage. I don't feel anything different yet, so I guess it must take time to start working.

Okay, today is a rest day--finally! Need to do laundry, pay attention to my poor Georgie and maybe even start painting again, something that got put on the back burner during my program. BBL to see what you all are doing.

Morning all!

Ooooooooh, I'm so tired. Sophie is feeling better, but yesterday was tough. At one point last night she was just burning up, then she fell asleep on the couch around 7, and I carried her up to bed around 8:30. Her fever broke in the night, thank goodness, and today she's good. I slept terribly though, because she was moaning and making noise and I was worried I was going to have to take her to Emerg in the middle of the night. Anyway, I didn't work out yesterday, and I don't feel like it today, but we'll see how it goes.

Robin - I'm glad work is more quiet.

Leanne - maybe I should do GS C&T with you. I so don't feel like I have the energy for cardio.

Tneah - wow, DH's DD sounds like a treat! I'm glad Capt. Vodka is gone. That must be a relief. Although it sounds like you've got First Mate Vodka staying with you:p Enjoy your rest day.

Jennifer - a nap sounds great right about now!

ETA - Deb! Sophie has a PA day in two weeks and I'm taking the day off and we're heading down to the Outlet Mall in NF and Target! I'm so excited!

Hi everyone!

Well, I just FINALLY finished up that necklace I've been working on since December. It took me forever to do since it called for the smallest size seed bead that you can use. I'm not super happy with how it's hanging when I have it on, so I may tweak it a bit more today. I just figured out how to post actual photos, so here we go:

And here is the new purse I got (it's pretty simple and plain, but I didn't want anything with loud logos):

Deb -- Glad you found a jacket for your trip! What a great bargain on that jacket. How long will you be gone for? Isn't S&H Legs a killer workout? ^^^5's on having to get those pants taken in! That means that your melting is coming along nicely! I tried a sample of the mineral face makeup from a different brand, but I didn't like it since my skin gets these dry patches (since I've been using Retin A at night) that the makeup tended to call attention to. Maybe I'll give it another shot one of these days.

Shelley -- Glad that Sophie is doing better and that you didn't have to take her to the ER last night. Take it easy today -- and don't even attempt weights if you're feeling too tired! Moms of sick ones need rest, too!

Robin -- Sorry that the food wasn't great last night, but at least the company was! Hope work goes smoothly today.

Jennifer -- So have the kitties been bringing you any more treats lately? :) A nap sounds really good!

Tneah -- Oh, how awful that you've had to basically babysit Mitch's DD like that! I had been thinking how great it was that you two got along so well, but she sounds like a handful. What a scary thing to have her pass out like that. Will Mitch be back today before she leaves so he can talk to her in person? I've been meaning to ask if you've had any time to paint lately. Have you been able to? Glad, too, that the firing of Cpt. Vodka wasn't too stressful for him!

Hi to Lainie, Shannon, Emily, TK, and anyone else who checks in later! Off to do GS Chest/Tris -- push-ups, here we come! UG!

Hello everyone. It's a lazy, cloudy Sunday here. It's one of those days where you keep thinking it's going to rain, but it hasn't yet.

I have to share just a smidge about last night's dreams. The first involved vampires on a spaceship. Then in the second one I went to a Cathe road trip, but for some reason it involved competitive fishing and an elaborate costume party. I can't remember how I dressed up, though. We didn't even work out! Maybe that's because even in my dreams I'm being careful with my ankle and knees. :p

Leanne, looks like you did a great job on than necklace. It's gorgeous!

Shelley, I hope you get some more rest today and tonight and I hope Sophie is all better soon!

Tneah, wow, rough time with the hubby's DD, eh? I hope you get a bit of a break now that she's leaving again.

Jennifer, I love 4DS, too. I have enjoyed the regular workouts and the great premixes. I particularly love the step workouts, but can't do them right now with my bad ankle.

Robin, we had wonderful weather yesterday--close to 80 degrees--almost too warm. DH made burgers on the bbq last night. At least I'd gotten the 93% lean kind of beef. :) I also used a whole wheat bun for myself.

Deb, sounds like you got a great deal on the jacket. It's so nice to go looking for something specific and actually find what you want--and find it on sale.

OK, going to go put Ewan down for a nap--considering napping again today--wish I had more energy!

Hello Melters.

Just stopping by before my nap. It won.

Also, this past week, my street had alot of police officers on it. I thought it was domesic dispute, come to find out. It was a neighbour diagnosed with paranoia schizophrenia who has two very big muscular dolbermans. The canine unit was called. Her home foreclose back in October and she refused to leave..

Leanne-you do beautiful work, very pretty. Your new handbag is nice too. I got a new one for NY about a month ago from Target.

Tneah-Wow, SD-yes I know lots of kids like that. Hope you and your DH can have quiet week together.

Robin & Shelley-it's warm here although the air is a tad bit cool.
Hope you both feel better soon.

You too, Laine.

Deb- great job on the jacket.

BBL

Whats up?

Leanne, you are so talented and patient! That necklace is stunning. So is your new bag--love getting new handbags, I am thinking about buying a bright yellow one for spring/summer.Wonder if Coach makes one? Love their bags.

Shelley, LOL at your "First mate vodka" remark. Thats just about right on. Unbelievable.
Glad to hear Sophie is getting better too.

Lainie, you have some crazy-arse dreams girl.

Jennifer, sounds like you had a little drama yourself this weekend!

Well, off to take DD to the airport....whew. Nuff said.
;) Then its cheat meal time later on, I have been picking at nuts today too, yummers..think I must need those fatty acids or something.

Hi gang! I'm back. I did 4DS HIS C&B when I got home from work and it felt great. I think that's the best workout I've had since Thanksgiving. My knee didn't feel at all tight afterwards, either. We just got back from pizza night. I was so self-righteous, eating a big salad and an apple instead of pizza. We all had to chuckle. One of the woman from Mom's nursing home dropped in (we eat in the social room) and made herself at home. She sat right down and started eating pizza. Then she wanted to know where her drink was. Our friend always brings her greyhound, and the woman asked DH if it was his dog. He said no and she said, "Oh, he looks like you." I thought my friend's DH was going to choke, trying not to laugh.

Jennifer, LOL at the nap winning. Afternoon naps feel so good, don't they? Your neighbor sounds a little scary. I feel so bad for people with mental illness like that. It's so hard to try to understand.

tneah - ONLY 35 pushups on your toes? Without stopping, or with breaks. I can't do any more than 20 without an nice long break. I always take longer breaks than Cathe during GS. Enjoy your cheat meal. You definitely deserve it.

Shelley, I'm glad to hear Sophie is a bit better. Midnight trips to the ER are not fun! Unless you like to watch humanity.

Leanne, the necklace is lovely! I like the bag too. My mom and dad got me a coach bag for Christmas once. I loved going into coach stores with it over my shoulder. I felt like I belonged!

Lainie, you have some crazy dreams, girl. Of course, maybe we all do. You just do a remarkable job of remembering them. Mmmmm, grilling season. I love grilling.

I looked up Cathe's 4DS rotation and thought I'd give it a try. Like tneah said, an hour of work and you'r all done. We'll see how long I can stay with it.

Hello Melters.

The weekend is just about over. :-(
The Detroit Tigers aren't doing well this season at all either. :-(

Hopefully, this week, the weather may actually be nice and my review to be really good. Thinking positive here.

My friend cancelled our tradition on Memorial Day weekend to see fine men in skirts at The Highland Festival in Alma. Now, we might do our Labour Day weekend event and go to Shipschewana IN instead.

My neighbour is gone now. Everyone knew that there was something wrong. Paranoia Schizophrenia, if on meds, a person could lead a normal life. She was a difficult person to be neighbourly too so everyone just let her be, unless her dogs (Dolbermans) got aggressive and there were problems with that consistantly.

No workouts planned for Monday, just making spaghetti with ground turkey and whole grain noodles.

To me, the 4DS premixes are the best. I don't do the regular workouts on that cause I prefer the premixes. On a good note, HCE is given me a chance to LEARN to like IMAX3 and consider doing KM more often.

Have a Great Night!
