Restaurants in St. Louis

Anybody from St. Louis or know of any excellent restaurants in the downtown area? We are going there this weekend for a game and am looking for suggestions.

Thanks!:)

I don't know what your food tastes are, but my husband and I absolutely LOVE Terrene. The space is comfortable and sophisticated, the food is delicious, and the staff are so friendly. We have spent a lot of time in St. Louis and we think Terrene is the best. Check out their website:

Also, if you are into vegan soul food (yes such a thing exists and is insanely awesome), I highly recommend a little place called Eternity. I know they get lots of non-vegetarians who become really addicted to their yummy food. It's quite casual though so I don't really know if that's what you're looking for. We normally do Eternity for lunch and Terrene for dinner.

There are also a few good places with lots of restaurants to just wander around. We love going to "the loop", this is basically Delmar Ave. right near Washington University. This is where the famous Blueberry Hill is. Also, the Central West End is very cool (it's where Eternity and Terrene are). Both of these areas are also great for window shopping and people watching. I just love St. Louis! Have fun!

If you are looking to stay in the downtown area to eat I recommend going to "Schlafly Brewery and Tap Room." It was the first brewpub in Missouri and is in a neat old historic building. They have a limited outdoor seating area and a couple of bars inside as well as restaurant area. It is located at Locust and 21st Street. You can look at their menu online -- german type harty fare. Their fish and chips are very well known around St. Louis. They usually have some live music on the 2nd floor.
