Rest Days???

I think my body is telling me to take a few rest days... so what do I do?? :p Seems like a dumb question.

I tried some yoga yesterday, which was nice. Can I just do yoga for a few days and consider those my rest days? What about Core Max?

Generally, I take one rest day a week, and sometimes I'll do yoga or SM. This is feeling different- like I need to take a few days this week. Curious how you guys take a few easy days in a row.

Hi Amy!

If I'm taking a few days off, I try to walk on the beach, play outside with my niece and nephew and stretch, so that I am moving but not pushing myself really.

Good luck!

Hi Amy,

I think that you should listen to your body and take it easy. Stretching on rest days is wonderful.

I came down with an awful case of food poisoning a few weeks ago and couldn't workout for an entire week. I was so worried that I was losing muscle, etc., but when I started back up again, I was better than ever! My entire body gave me a hearty "thank you!"

I work out 90-120 minutes six days a week and FORCE myself to take a complete rest day once a week. It has really been beneficial to me. I guess what I am trying to tell you is to not worry and listen to your body. You won't lose any strength and will be even better after a few days off. Relax! You deserve it. :)

I used to do some yoga on my rest days, but now I do absolutely nothing except indulge myself with 3 hours of clay -- either wheel or handbuilding. But, if I were to do something physical, I think I'd try Tai Chi. A friend of mine does it religiously and claims it not only helps her physically, but especially mentally in terms of stress reduction. I've been tempted to try it, but right now, my plate's full.

Amy,

I think my body is telling me the same thing! These past few days have been somewhat of a struggle to get up and get going. This week I am finishing Debbie's endurance rotation, then next week I will be in Las Vegas for a meeting. Figure that's a good excuse to take a few days rest!! I will probably try to do some yoga, stretching while I'm there. The hotel has some cardio machines, so I might do some light cardio if I have time. Otherwise I just want to hang out and have fun! I truly think we need to listen to our bodies if they are asking for rest! Although I know I will feel guilty for doing it!
