Hugs and Encouragement
Reese:
I am so sorry that you have had such a rough 2 weeks. I am thankful that your teenage daughter is not pregnant. What a relief that must be!
You sound like you are stressed out and burning out. A break from the weight loss train may be just what the doctor ordered. Fitness is about freedom, not a size! That is my motto. Your fitness journey does not always have to be all about the pursuit of weight loss or some other measurable goal. As Allison shared above, there are emotional and mental health benefits of working out that are far more valuable. Pack your scale in the closet. Reach for your “happy” workouts that give you joy. Take a break from intense workouts if you need to and enjoy the beautiful spring weather by taking a refreshing walk. Do not add to your stress by forcing yourself to stick to a rotation. Just have fun and enjoy your favorite fun workouts! Even if you can only find time for a 10-minute workout, I believe you will discover that it will kick that stress to the curb and give you a burst of energy.
If you have been too strict with clean eating, it may be time to relax and enjoy a few treats in moderation. Eat when you are hungry, sit down and savor every bite, and do not pressure yourself to be perfect. Find ways to nurture yourself and comfort yourself without eating. Read a book. Watch a movie. Call a friend. Take a warm bubble bath.
When your life settles down again, you can kick it up a notch and kick those pounds to the curb. You will likely feel refreshed and renewed after a mental health break. I encourage you to simply listen to your body and enjoy workouts that make you feel good until you fully recover physically and mentally from all the stress.
I am sending hugs and keeping you in my prayers.
Blessings,
Heather B.
