Recommendation for Rebouncer

Cathlete
I went to see my physical therapist again for my knees pain. Today, she let me run fast in the mini trampoline. I felt really good about it. My knees did not feel anything at all. I did get sweat after one min run. I am thinking about buy one. Could anyone who have used trampoline give me some recommentdation which brand to buy?

I looked at Walmart web. They have one "Stamina InStride 36-inch Mini Trampoline", only $23.33. However, at Urban Rebouncer site, it cost $119.97 + $29.97(S&H). But it does include 3 workout dvds.

In addition, could those of you work in trampoline give me some suggestions for work out dvds?

Thanks

From what I've seen, there are basically two types of rebounDers (from the term "to rebound"): the less-expensive Walmart "mini trampolines" with a very firm mat and either thin springs or even thick cotton webbing attaching it to the frame (I had one of those years ago), and the Permatron-mat rebounders that have heavy-duty springs and a softer bounce.

Some people have no problem with the cheap kind (and they could be a way to see if you like rebounding in general before splurging on a more expensive kind), but I don't think they last as long. The Urban rebounders also come in a foldable model (that's easier to store). You can sometimes find them on sale (with DVD's) for less than $100. (And the DVD's might also have multiple workouts on: there are several UR DVd's with 3 workouts each on.)

What kind did your PT use? If it's the cheaper, firmer-mat type, then that might be fine for you.

In addition to the UR workouts, you can take walking workouts (like Leslie Sansone) to the UR and modify them (running instead of walking, jumping jacks instead of "step touch" moves...that's the only way I use walking workouts) or even modify workouts like Cathe's MIC to use on the rebounder (or do high impact moves like some in BC or KM on the rebounder).

Hi Wantfit

I bought my mini trampoline at Meijer here in Dayton Ohio. I think it was about $40.00. Works for me. I don't know what the difference would be in spending hundreds of dollars!!

I have 3 or 4 dvds that I ordered through a website (I think it was Urban Rebounder.com) and they are all pretty good. I think Collage Video also sells them.

They DO give you a very good cardiovascular workout!!

Thanks, Kathryn and Dianne.

I got a good deal from ebay. I bought Gym Urban Rebounder (Sorry, I did not notice RebounDer. ;-))with 5 compilations DVDS. I did the research. It said that Gym style is more solid than the home version. Since I can not run, I will use it a lot for my aerobic and my daughter will use it for practicing her skating jump.

I can't wait to get this package. This set of DVDs including aerobic, kickboxing, ab and even yoga.

I will let you know how I feel when I get it.

Thanks again.
