rebounder = motion sickness?

Ok, ladies, I was so excited to get my rebounder at the end of last week and after trying it out, I have to say.... ugh! I felt dizzy and sick to my stomach, worse than a 10-hour car ride. Needless to say, I am very disappointed about that. Anyone have experience with this or ideas to alleviate? I should mention that I've been unable to ride any "serious" rides for years... something about having kids just shifts your insides totally around.

Anyway, ideas??

Hmmmm...I don't know Marie...I have not had any issues at all. Are you bouncing on it correctly? You are not supposed to leave that far off the surface of the rebounder. Are you mistakenly using it like a trampoline??

It's also possible that it just isn't for you...sorry! I know you were excited!

Hello Marie

I always wait 2 hours before I do any exercises. Perhaps that is the problem. Just an idea.

Take care,

Oh no!!! How about 1 gm of ginger powder or ginger tea? It's natural and might help with the motion sickness. I would hate to see you miss out on all the fun.

Omg! I can sympathise as I get motion-sickness even from reading slides on a microscope. At a previous job, it never failed I would have 250 slides to read and someone breathing down my neck to get the results ASAP...and I would have to keep going outside for fresh air, it s*cked!!

Now, I used to jump on a trampoline alot and that never bothered me...I'm wondering if it is the fact that you are needing to concentrate on such a small surface area (visually I mean so you don't fall off) and that combined with the jumping motion is what's doing it for you? Just a thought...trying to put my motion-sick prone self in your position.

Editing to add that back when I was working in pharmaceutical research, I was the only employee with a lab that had access directly outside. It was nice of them to accomodate my need!
