Reasonable Painting Prices

I'm calling around trying to get estimates on painting my stairway & hallway, which has 20 foot walls. Does anyone have any idea what it costs to paint a room, ceiling, hallway, etc. I've never contracted this work out before, opting to paint everything myself so I have no earthly idea what to expect.

I think it depends on where you live. I had my entire interior painted--this was a total of 5 rooms & a hallway, also included trim & ceilings--cost me about $3K. Shocking, no?

When I move next month I'm doing the 3 little bedrooms myself b/c I just can't afford to hire someone right now & it's so much easier to paint vacant rooms. But in a few months I plan to hire someone to do my LR & DR--thank goodness I don't need trim & ceilings this time around! (the house was just painted but I don't like the colors)

I had my living room, dining room and kitchen painted (also had wallpaper taken off in kitchen and repair of a crack in my dining room ceiling) for $600.00. My DH usually does all the painting but this was a bigger job than he wanted to do.
