Rear-end thinning exercises

I need some help finding excercises that "thin" or "elongate" the rear-end muscles. I have some "natural" shape to my rear end, it seems that my legs are toned and look great but my rear just seems to poke out too far! Do some exercises make the rear-end muscles larger to where they "poke out"? Are there exercises that will make the muscle longer?

I have the opposite problem of having too flat and "long" a butt (long-butted? LOL) if I don't make sure to do enough step ups (they make the but higher and more rounded, in my experience). I've found my butt flattens more when I do martial arts kicks. This may be just me, but you might want to try it for a while and see what happens.
 
You should be happy you are blessed with a "perky" butt!! I'm not sure what exercises will help thin out your behind, but I can tell you one thing - if you run, this may be making your butt more muscular and bigger. I have a flat butt and when I run, it perks right up - I can actually feel it behind me. Consider yourself blessed!!
 
i would suggest keeping it toned with out using weights .... yoga or stretching...

has it always been like that?
do you work out alot?

maybe you have no choice...

are you short waisted?

long waisted people have longer distance for their muscles to cover than short waisted.....

if you are a fit muscular type person with a short waist your glutes have no way to go but out!
