Re: My left arm is more defined than my right?

Does anyone have the same problem that I do?

I was flexing my arm muscles in front of the mirror and noticed that my left arm was more defined than my right arm. Weird thing is that I am a righty and I'm much stronger on my right side. I figured that my right arm would be more defined than my left, but it's just the opposite!!!!

Does anyone have any suggestions how I can change this so my right and left arm look the same?

I know what you are talking about.Actually it is the opposite for me.My right arm is the more defined one but I can lift heavier with my left.I can be doing tricep extensions or bicep curls and my right arm feels it and my left doesn't.Sometimes I have dropt the weight that I was using a switch to a heavier one.But I don't think you can do that all that time b/c eventually(i would think) your body could get a little lopt sided.;-) I don;t have any suggeestions for it but I think it is very common.

Yep...me too. I'm a righty and I've noticed that my left arm, in general, seems to show improvements faster than my right. They're some subtle, but they're definitely there.

For me, I'm sure it's because muscles in my my left arm, particularly with bicep and some shoulder work, always hit failure before those in my right. Therefore, they're working harder than the muscles on the right. I'll sometimes try doing extra reps on the right to bring it to failure.

I'm not sure what the recommended method is to achieve balance for both growth/definition and strength. It seems like doing extra reps on one side will still result in one side being stronger. I'd love to hear suggestions on this.

BTW - I'm glad to hear that other people flex in front of the mirror too. :D :D

I have the same issue but I am left handed and my right arm is more defined...interesting...I am very ambidextorous (sp?)...Write Left, cut right, play softball-throw right...bat left, tennis left...basketball right...so I find it interesting that left may be stronger but less defined???? Could it be fat composition??? as far as balance...how do you re balance if you are already out of balance..hmmmmmmmm Interesting....are your legs any different???ie left bigger than right???

I thought it was the lighting in my apartment! I've noticed this for quite some time... I'm a righty too, and my left arm/shoulder is more developed. One of life's mysteries, I'm afraid! Glad to know it's not just me... In fact, I double blinked when I read this post because I thought about posting the exact thing and said, "nah, it's just the angle." Apparently not!

No, my legs look the same in definition. I guess I should admit to myself that I'm not perfect and that I'll have some flaws given to me by God and it's not bad afterall. Just wanted to know if there were others out there just like me.
