Re: MUST Haves from HC Series

A couple of days ago on this forum the question was asked about which workouts were must haves from the HardCore series. From all that answered, it was a resounding vote for the Gym Styles. I have never even considered purchasing these before, so I would like to ask what is so special about these DVDs? You all love them so much and I would like to know if I'm missing out on something good, you know?? Please tell me why you love them so much...Thanks, Pam

P.S. I realize this question might be better suited for the other forum where you can ask DVD questions, but the previous post about this topic was here in this forum so I decided to post here again to try to catch all of you who responded the first time. :D
 
Ooooooooooooh yes, the Gym Styles.

Why do I love them so much? Well, because I rarely get DOMS but I always get DOMS with these (and like many Catheites, I LIKE DOMS:p). They thoroughly work each body part. They are definitely NOT boring. The push-ups in GS Chest continue to be a challenge for me. One day I'll do all 72 of them on my toes! The tricep work is fun. Some of the exercises actually work me to failure. And the music in them is amazing. The premixes are great, and you can easily split them up to do one body part per day if you choose.
 
And, what kind of results are you getting from these workouts? Increased weight loss, muscle definition? Anything you can think of to maybe persuade me to get these.....

Hi Pam, the Gym Styles are a good combination of regular gym style work, slow and heavy work AND endurance work.

I developed more strength with these workouts. When I went back to the PS series and the Pyramids, I noticed I could lift more. I was also surprised that I was able to increase my weights for my endurance workouts, especially PH, where I've hardly made any weight increases because it is so tough. I believe the Gym Styles also helped me to do unassisted pull-ups by adding variety to my workouts and hitting/challenging the muscles differently.

Sorry, I can't comment about weight loss because I'm not looking to lose pounds. Hope this helps you in making a decision.

gosh.... i'm not sure WHY i like the GS's so much... i just do! just did legs this morning.... and it's a good workout.. and not boring... it's over before you know it (ok.... not before you know it... you definitely KNOW you've worked out!)

the upper body... again... not boring... good workout.... overkill on the pushups! lol! stopping to think about it... i guess i do get DOMS after these two (i generally do them both the same day... i don't like splitting upper body up between two days)... i don't get upper body DOMS with PUB or other cathe workouts!

cute work out clothes are good for AT LEAST an additional 10-15 calories burned!
