In pittsburgh, anyone running the 5 k? I'll be there with my 15 yr old and my best friend and her daughter. Can't wait!

Have fun! The race for the cure in my area is next month and I'll be doing it then! Let us know how you do! :D

I'm doing the May Day 5K for the Amer. Cancer Society in Williamsport PA this morning. It's my first and I'm excited and nervous. It will help to know that others are running today too.

I'm done with my first 5K. I placed 4th in my age group (I'm 53). Guess I'll have to run again next year to place! Someone told me I'd be hooked after one race.

Robin, way to go on your first race. My first 5K was this morning too. I ran the Kiwanis Club Run for Kids (benefits kids not just kids running, LOL). I was really nervous, but enjoyed it non the less.

Jean

Yes Robin, I will probably do more. This one was small about 300 people. The larger ones kind of intimidate me. I came in 7th out of 8 in my age group, but I finished it faster than I thought I could. I usually am only able to jog a 12 min mile, but my average for this was 11:15.

OH! You guys are going to want MORE AND MORE!

Jean, the bigger the running field, the more adrenaline pumping thru your veins!!!

Way to go, ladies, on all the races, causes and money you're raising for these causes.

I'm participating in the Relay For Life in June with a team our school staff put in, and my personal goal is to walk as much as humanly possible for those 24 hours.

Awesome, everybody!

Gayle

Gayle, you walk, girl!

Jean, I found a Run for Kids here in Williamsport in June. I think I may have to do it. My DH looked at me like I was crazy. My DD may do it too, but she's worried it doesn't give her much time to train.

Congratulations Wendy, Robin and Jean on your races this weekend!! :)

It's so addicting. I started racing last year and I did 18 races. I've done 9 so far this year and placed in 3 of them (in my age group). The last one I did only had 45 people in it. My twin and I came in first and second in our age group (because we were the only ones in our age group :p). My twin came in second to last and still ended up with a medal.

Gayle ~ good luck on your walk!!!
