I am new to this forum and have a few questions. I have been doing Cathe's PS series for 6 months along with regular visits to the gym. My results have been very good. I have noticed that some of you put your weekly workouts in a "check-in" post. I am always curious how others are doing and I would like to check my progress so could some of you state the amount of weight you use for the different exercises. For instance for the PS:BB&A and the PS:CS&T. Or also, it seems some of you go the gym as well as do the tapes, so how about the amount of weight you use on some of the traditional exercises such as the bench press, concentration curls, barbell curls, tricep extentions, squats and leg press.

In my quick observation of this board, it seems very inspirational. I hope to contrubute and be inspired by all of you.

Thank you in advance for helping me with my questions.

I don't have much equipment,

but I'll tell you what I use. 15lb dumbells for legs, chest and back. 10lb dumbells for bi's and tri's. I also use a 15lb bodybar(I don't have a barbell yet) and 8&5lb dumbells, if I'm feeling really tired. Well, that it. that's all I've got. Hope this helps

! BTW, WELCOME!!!!

Thank you!

Aimee, thank you for your response to my question. I look forward to participating often on this board.

Thanks again.

Hi Leona

Welcome to a wonderful spot on the webl

I pretty much mix up my workouts between the gym and home but you probably won't find my weights listed...mainly because there are too many to post. And depending on the rotation I am on that week they can all vary greatly. Free standing squats at home are even different in weight than to the free standing squats at the gym, just because of the safer squat rack I have at the gym. Various barbells and the weight they weigh also influence what I lift. I find the longer olympic bars allow me to lift heavier??? Then there are the change in rotations with reps and sets and how my weight changes for that. So as you can see...it is even difficult for me to keep and eye on it

. Besides..my posts are long enough LOL!!!
I will tell you, no matter what weight I use...I keep it hard or it's getting adjusted next time to make it harder

. And that works both ways...I think I will retrieve my 3-4 pound dumbells that I loaned out, because that darn new endurance work in the Xpress series has me dropping down considerbly...darn tricep kickbacks!

Consider joining the check-in group! It's a great bunch of folk

Thank you!

Thank you very much for your response.
Please explain your change in rotation. I think you mean from light weight high rep, to heavy weight low rep.
How often do you change your rotation?
You said that your weights may vary greatly. Please give me an example for arm work. I am not too familiar with how rotations work.

If I am being too inquisative, just let me know.

explaining rotations..

if I can

When I say rotations, it basically describes what type of routine I am doing. For strength it would be just as you guessed, either a heavy wieght/low rep for building or a low wieght/high rep for endurance.
As far as how often I change...probably more than I should or need to. I am a fairly high energy impatient person and change keeps me going. I would become frustrated with the same rotation for too long. So...I guess my ratation is change! LOL

As far as weights to use for different rotations and routines...my biggest tip would be get a good log and take the time to write down what you use for your strength work....whether it's endurance with low weight or the heavier lifting, having the reference to look back to will be extremely helpful for your progress in any strength work.
