questions about Christi T?

Cathlete
Although Cathe is by far my favorite instructor, I am becoming quite interested in trying a Christi Taylor video. I love Hi/Lo, but I have a little difficulty with complex choreography. For example, I am still working on the steps in Step Jam after 2 or 3 trys now. Should I simply stay away from Christi's videos or is there a moderate choreography video that I might do okay with. Which is more complex, Hi/Lo Heaven or Happy Hour?
I love Cathe's music and need good music to stay motivated. Is Christi's music good, and by any chance is it similar to Cathe's music?

Anybody else out there gonna BUST if they don't get Cardio Kicks soon????????!!!!!!!!!

Thanks, Lisa

Here's my thought

Different instructors have different styles--which is possibly more important than choreography itself in learning a new tape. So be patient.

After mastering StepJam and StepWorks, I got Christi's Stepping Zone and Happy Hour. The only way I could learn Stepping Zone was to walk through it with the remote in my hand--and without the step! Happy Hour was a little easier. The music on both these tapes is too soft--especially for me, since I have to keep the sound pretty low during my morning workouts.

Christi tends to say "watch me"--and then quickly "teach" some new turn or move. Well, I can't watch and move at the same time, so I have to just watch. However, I caught on to both of these tapes just fine, and enjoy them both a lot. Now I'm waiting for my Heavenly Hi/Lo. Reviewers say the music on these new tapes is excellent--and loud.

Hey, Lisa!

I love Christi and Cathe -- they are my two favorite instructors. They are different in style, that's for sure.

I find that Cathe pushes me intensity-wise like no other instructor. And that's why I don't get tired of her workouts -- I'm always learning new things about my own capacity and strength. And that cute little demon Cathe just knows how to keep me motivated!

Christi's tapes are less intense than Cathe's -- although they are intense enough to earn an "advanced" intensity rating from Collage. Her choreography is much more varied and the music is a more integral part of the workout. I don't seem to ever get tired of Christi's tapes either -- she has such an incredible variety of ways to do the same old move! I turn to Christi's workouts when I want to play.

I think Christi is fantastic and well-worth a try. However, her style is not for everyone and not as easy to pick up as Cathe's. You may want to visit www.videofitness.com and browse through the "reviews" and the "new reviews" section, to see what other exercisers have said. Sometimes it's fun to find a reviewer who shares your opinion of tapes you're familiar with and like (or dislike) a lot, and then try to see if you can find if they've reviewed any of Christi's tapes.

If you decide to get a Christi tape, start with either of the "Heaven" tapes -- or with Stepping Zone or Happy Hour Hi/Lo. Of those videos, her hi/lo is usually easier to learn than her step.

Hope this helps. And I'm busting for Cardio Kicks right along with you!

Forgot to Say

The music in Christi's Step Heaven and Hi/Lo Heaven is fantastic. Very loud and lots of vocals that you'll enjoy singing along with.

Stay away from 9801

I do all Cathe's tapes and can do Happy Hour and Stepping Zone but still can't do 9801. If you like Hi/Lo, I'd suggest Happy Hour. It's not too tough to learn. I can't comment on Hi/Lo heaven. Just ordered it yesterday!!!
