Question for Vegetarians

When you first switched over, about how long did it take for your body to get used to the new way of eating (ie - drastically increased plant intake)? I gained 2 pounds, but I know it's simply bloat and my body trying to figure out what the heck is going on. I feel better and fitter and actually have more energy, so I'm not complaining.
 
Christine - I switched over way back in... 1989, I think. I don't recall having any trouble, but then, I've never really paid attention to a scale. I didn't have any digestive problems or anything. But I did continue to eat dairy products, so maybe my body didn't see it as that big of a change.
 
I switched in 1976, so it's hard to remember! I don't recall any noticeble weight loss or gain at first.

I do know that I relied a lot on dairy and p.b at first (I was just getting into it).

I did gain some weight after I started working as co-manager of a food coop, and got great discounts on food, so went a bit wild with dried pineapple, pistachios and mixing miso and tahini to spread on sesame crackers!
