question for heather!

hi there

hope you are at the hospital having your babe. if not, just thought i'd ask you a somewhat personal question - did you have a "blody show" or lose your mucous plug? just curious. i think i lost my plug this morning, no show though. i did read the plug can go 2-4 weeks before labor so i am not really geared up, but i thought i'd ask you. good luck if you are in the hos[ital. cannot wait to hear how it goes.

Morris, hopefully Heather can't answer because she is in the hospital. I bled for a few days prior to having dd#1 and bled with what seemed like a loss of mucus plug the day I gave birth. My sis in law lost mucus plug and didn't go into labor for another week and a half. It may be a few weeks for you but you may be going soon. Have your bag packed just in case.

Hey! No I was at the hospital last night- started having contractions (strong, painful, and regular lasting 30-45 seconds about 5-6 minutes apart). By the time we got in the car and made it to the hospital they had all but stopped! I am so frustrated!!!!!!! I timed them for 1 1/2 - 2 hrs b/c I didn't want to go to the hospital if it was false labor (but they were painful enough that I couldn't even walk while I was having one) but they stopped as we get to the hospital!!!!ARGH! the doc said labor can start and stop (but I am beginning to feel like its just me!)Anyway, they checked me anyhow and I am dilated past 3 and effaced so the doc said I might just want to walk around the hospital and have him check me again in an hour (if at 4 they will admit me) but I came on home. Since then I have been having a lot of pink and brown discharge but no mucous plug that i know of! Having a lot of pressure and cramps like usual! They guessed I would have it by the end of this weekend so we'll see! Oh and he stripped my membranes again and this time there was blood on his glove so he said he thought it would happen soon! Here's hoping and praying!

oh heather, you have my sympathy!!! good that they ae saying end of the weekend. i am thinking laboring thoughts and sending them your way. thanks for answering my questions.

shopahoic - thanks for the info. i found it helpful. as i am just 1 cm dilated, i expect i will hang on this way for a while. i still have 20 days to go technically. my only concern is that since they told me to cut back my activity i will slow myself down. i miss my dvds. just walking and doing weights, but i guess it is what i am supposed to do. like you i lost a little weight at my last appointment - 21lbs at this time. we will see after a few weeks with no exercise (lol). i hope he comes soon. i just cannot waqit to hold him.
