Question for fitness trainers

Worknprogress

Cathlete
All injuries are finally gone and getting back into working out. I don't know that I've ever gone this long being lazy!!

Should I start off with hour long easier workouts or shorter 35-45 minute intense workouts for weight training?

As far as cardio - well, I'll just do what my body lets me and then tack on a bit more to push myself.

Hi Debbie,

If I were your trainer, I would recommend shorter, less intense weight training workouts. After two weeks, if you're not feeling any pain, change only one variable (time or weight) to the session maybe three times a week (depending on your rotation). If you want to pm me, no problem. We can also talk on the phone if that works for you. It's really best to take it slow depending on your injury history. It's so hard to give a "prescription" for a fitness program without knowing more details.

Good luck!

Thanks Laura!! I am starting back tomorrow and I will do as you suggested.

My injuries were plantar faciistis, tennis elbow and a really bad back.

I would love to PM you but don't want to take advantage of your services.

I'll start off tomorrow, as you suggested, and let you know how I make out.

I am excited, yet scared - I haven't been this "out of shape" for a very long time.

Also, thanks so much for your response to my question.
