Question for all the pregnant ladies

Hi Ladies. I am new to the board and wanted to introduce myself. My name is Carisa and I am currently 26 weeks pregnant with my first baby. I was wondering how everyone is dealing with the accumulated body fat that just happens from being pregnant. It is hard for me to deal with because in the past I have worked so hard to reduce fat that it is frustrating to see it coming on even though I am working out and eating pretty good. Just curious how everyone else is dealing with it.

Carisa, congrats and please join us on the moms to be check in. It frustrates me to find fat on my body in places that were once thin but I am aware that I am gaining a normal amount of weight. At 33 weeks I've gained about 20 pounds. My goal is to keep weight gain below 30 pounds which I believe is realistic. I was able to lose all the preggo weight from pregnancy #1. In other words, if you eat healthy and exercise and gain a moderate amount remind yourself you are not getting fat but providing a nice home for your baby.
 
Just wanted to add that 22 weeks is a tough time in pregnancy. You look like you've gained weight but don't look very pregnant yet. In a way it is easier to deal with pregnancy weight later in pregnancy when your body looks very pregnant, not fat! Also, splurge on some stylish maternity clothes. It helps ! My favorite is old navy.
 
i totally agree with what shopaholic said. it is so hard to gain the weight but definately helps to focus on providing everything your baby needs. after all, no one wants to short change the baby! everyone is certainly different with the amount they gain and the timing of it. staying healthy is key as well as knowing how different we all are in body type. i know that for me, i am measuring consistently very small at dr visits, yet i too have gained 20 pounds and am only 30 weeks. everyone is different. it will all be worth it in the ned right?
 
Thanks for the advice ladies. I know that gaining weight is healthy for the baby. I actually have only gained 8 pounds of weight so far but I am just surprised at how fast the fat and cellutlite seem to pile on. I am just so worried about not looking the same after pregnancy. It seems silly though because there are a lot of women who look even better after pregnancy. I guess I will just have to work my butt off!(literally)

Congrats and welcome!!!
Remember it's a blessing to get pregnant;-) Our bodies are temporarily like this. Read through the forum you'll see you LOSE the weight. Using Cathe, you'll lose fast. I am a small framed person. I gained 45 pounds with my first. I would laugh at myself when I would see my image in mirrors or windows. There's nothing else you can do. Yes, there are days you are like OMIGOD!!! BUT, once the lil one comes, then you understand. I lost all that weight and more. She was only 7 months when I got soooo skinny and prego again with my second. Now I'm 26 weeks and looking pretty prego!! But I know no matter what, it comes off. So don't worry. Remember right now you are working out to feel good, keep from getting swollen and to be strong in labor. Not to be your skinny self, that's for after;-)
