Question about WW's

Hi everyone!!! Last Monday I started back at WW's, and I have a question. I did Body Of Life for a long time, and I see alot of people on this forum take a cheat day. I don't want a cheat day, but on Sat., I am going to take 10 extra points, just to give myself one day of a little more freedom. I never take any activity points, but I really don't bank too many points either. I usually eat pretty close to my 25. I think the one day of eating extra will boost my metabolism. I only have about 10 lbs. to lose. Have any of you ever tried this, and do you think it will hurt my progress??? I LOVE popcorn, Jolly Time Healthy Choice, but I am going to try to limit it to Sat. since it is highly glycemic. I think this will help keep me on track, kinda a free day, but not really. What do you think????

Lori:

I think it's a good idea to vary your points. You don't want to starve yourself.... That is never good! Especially when working out.

There is something called "the Wendy Plan".... and was devised by a WW (Wendy) and she has a point program that helps vary the points and allows you to enjoy a higher point day, without the guilt! Just something she devised for herself to help her keep on program without hitting a plateau.

I'm not sure where you would find it... but if you do a search both on the forums at WW and Dotti's Weight Loss Zone:

http://www.dottisweightlosszone.com/

I'm sure you'll be able to find a copy of it! Just something to think about it. She has a 40 pt. day in there, (of course, this could be for the higher point ranges.)

Hope this helps!

Hey, just wanted to say I started ww again 2 - almost 3 weeks now - and lost 2 lbs the first week staying very true to my points, then lost 4.2 lbs the 2nd week, alternating high and low points every other day. I work out a lot and don't bank points, yet, but sometimes feel with all my workouts I need a little extra. I try and make that extra something healthy, though, not junk food. I weigh in again tomorrow - yeah! I have 14 more lbs. to lose to reach my goal. I, too, did bfl and lost some, then gained when I stopped the program. WW seems more workable to me, plus I love cathe and all her videos. I wish you great success with ww. Let us know how it goes!!!

I did searches on both sites, and I could find nothing. Thanks for your help anyway. I am weighing tomorrow, at home, and Tues. at my first meeting. I hope I lose. Thanks again.

Hey, Nursie! Are you runnin' up and down those steps at the hospital? Just wondered how you are doing with your workout plan.

Hey honeybunch! Our hospital only has 2 levels so, yeah, I take the stairs every day, but they aren't much. What I've been doing is double workouts on the days I don't work. Say a strength tape and a cardio tape. Or strength tape, then a 30 min. run or bike. So far, it's working well. Thanks for inquiring! I'm finally losing some weight with the help of ww. I bulk up really easy with strength training, so my muscles are bulging, just gotta keep trimming off that fat! Someday, when I lose the rest of the weight I may post some before and after pics. The before is in a bikini, and really ugly!! Keeping me motivated! Cathe also is a great motivator. What a woman!!!

RE: Wendie Plan

I read through the wp info and I have to say I think she may just be right. I lost 2lbs. my first week, 4.2 lbs. my 2nd week and 2lbs. my 3rd week. Interestingly enough I did go over my points 2 days out of that 2nd week. I don't count my exerise for extra food, either. I think it's worth checking the site out. She has some interesting ideas. Lots of luck this week.

RE: Wendie Plan

Hi,
I am curious about WW. The girls at work are on it and have lost quite a lot of weight on it. I just want to know if the point system works better than just counting your calories? And if it is a sound diet? I have about 15 lbs to lose but my niece needs to lose a lot and from what I have heard it sounds better than the Bernstein thing that she is tempted to go to.

RE: Wendie Plan

Counting calories and counting points, in my opinion, work equally as well. What is key is keeping track of what you eat in a journal or whatever means (electronic, web sites, etc.). I got the WW at home package and use the books and stuff, but I usually count calories.

WW is a good program to use long term because it teaches you to eat properly for life.

RE: Wendie Plan

Thanks so much for all the info. I am going to start on this, I just have to figure out my levels. I weigh tonight, after about 9 days on the program. I hope all goes well. This plan is so doable, I really like it, I just have to stick with it!!!!

RE: Wendie Plan

Susan--thanks so much for the link to that site. I have been on WW since 12/00 and I have been in a major rut since Christmas!! I think the WP is something that will help a lot!

Thanks again,
Kim
