Question about ab work

I apologize if this has been asked before, but I'm wondering how much I can/should work my abs while pregnant. I JUST found out 2 days ago and it's pretty early, but I was wondering if there were any standard guidelines, etc. here in Catheland?

Thanks!

Most people would tell you not to do any work flat on your back after 12 weeks. There is a risk of cutting off blood flow to your uterus.

My doctor told me that there was a tiny risk (only 10% of women have this problem) of that actually happening, and that I would feel it long before the baby was ever in trouble. So I kept doing work flat on my back up until the very end with no issues.

light headed, dizzy, nausea and headache were the warning signs he said to look out for. Any of those were keys to stay off of your back.

If you felt fine doing suppine work, however, then it was not an issue to be concerned with.

I was flat on my back doing bench and tricep work (I gave up on crunches for abs after month 6) until 2 days before I delivered. My little guy is a healthy little chunker!
